About Me
Hi, my name is Ester and I'm 25 years old. I love movement, the outdoors, exploration and a sense of play, and a good book from the field of my studies - Psychotherapy and Psychology. I moved to England when I was 18 to study at the University of Derby. I then spent a year nannying and travelling in Canada and now I am back in England studying part time a masters degree at UCLan. I would love to help out as a part time nanny 2 days a week with the occasional evening where needed. A good relationship, communication, and transparency with the parents is important to me so I would like to work for a family who shares the same values to ensure the best possible care for your little one(s).
My Experience
I have experience of working as a nanny (ages 1-6) and a summer day camp instructor (ages 5-12). I also completed CPR & First Aid Certificate for Children.
- I like to co-create a schedule of the day's activities with the kids and thus let them practice choice and decision making.
- Together we create fun and educational activities, we play, create and explore, do creative and crafting sessions, go on nature walks or feed park animals.
- I focus on developing their autonomy and sense of self by incorporating them into easy tasks that we do together to build their confidence and independence whilst modelling basic hygiene and social development habits.
- I have also previously handled all transportations pick-ups and drop-offs of children from extracurricular activities/classes, prepared meals & performed light housecleaning.
- In emotionally demanding situations, depending on the age of the children, I try to help kids to identify and understand the emotion that they’re feeling, acknowledge their fears, sadness, or frustration, yet create a sense of agency over the situation and help them self-generate the most suitable solution and action to take.
My Qualifications
Joint Honours degree in Psychology & Counselling - University of Derby, UK - 2018-2021
- Modules included: Developmental psychology, Psychology in Education, Creative Expressive Therapeutic Techniques for Psychological Growth, Compassion Focused Approaches in Counselling and Psychotherapy.
CPR & First Aid Certificate for Children (2021)
