About Me
Hello, I am Sophie! I am currently studying Psychology with Criminology at Royal Holloway, University of London.
I know how difficult academic studies can be and I hope to be able to make it easier for each of my students. My goal is to not only ensure that my students succeed but to grow a love for the subject through the interactive lessons I provide. Liking a subject enhances a student's ability to be able to flourish in it; I hope to provide a safe but fun working environment that can accomplish this.
Outside of academics, I am a big animal person and love to be around my friends/family. People play a huge part in my life and although I do not mind being alone, I love being able to make new memories with those around me - I cherish each moment.
My Experience
Over the past three years, I have tutored a range of age groups from 6 year olds to 16 year olds. I have loved every single moment; it is truly magical seeing a student grow a passion for the subject and succeeding.
I have tutored English (Literature and Language) to students in groups of 3-4 for either one hour or two hour lessons. We focus on tasks that they find particularly hard and aim to constantly improve on them areas to achieve higher grades. I provide feedback every lesson for every task (verbal and written), and set homework so that students can gain a better understanding.
Additionally, I have done an 11+ English Intensive Course over the past two summers. Students are taught 11+ content and have to sit multiple assessments with the hope that by the last day, they will succeed. I am pleased to say that each student I have taught has passed the 11+ exams, and at the moment, I have a high student achieving rate.
Plus, I am open to doing online lessons. During COVID-19, I moved my services online and offered online lessons through Zoom or Teams. This was very easy to do and we were able to use the whiteboard effect to make sure that the work was still easily explained.
Although I have only tutored English (11+, KS1-KS4) and KS2 Maths, I am confident I am able to easily tutor Psychology and Sociology (either GCSE or A-level).

GCSES: English Lit and Lang (7), Maths (7), Sociology (7), Psychology (8), and 5 more GCSEs grade 6-7.
