About Me
Hello, I’m Paula, registered through Tiney agency as a provider of childcare in a home environment on the Early Years Register.
I’ve completed a Paediatric First Aid course and extensive training through Tiney which included safeguarding, child protection, learning development, food and hygiene, building an enabling environment and creating policies to ensure the best possible care will be provided.
I also have 15 years previous childcare experience (39 yrs including my own Children) and am now opening my own business Funfields Tiney Home Nursery, welcoming children from the ages of 3 months to 6 years into a caring, warm and nurturing setting where they are free to play, learn, have fun and explore.
I am based in Broadstairs, within equal distance between the seafront and Westwood Cross shopping centre. There is a variety of amenities located nearby, including a park, library, toddler clubs and indoor play centres, which I plan to be taking the children to regularly. As well as supervised visits to explore the outdoors, our home has lots of space which features educational toys and activities for children to get involved in as they learn through play.
I will be working alongside my daughter and assistant Sophie, who is also trained in Paediatric First Aid and has been DBS checked. Working together to build a friendly, family-run business that focuses on the happiness and welfare of each individual child is a core value of Funfields which we will strive to uphold.
My Experience
I have three grown up children and 11 month old twin granddaughters who I love spending time with and watching them develop as they grow.
After many years of working as a receptionist in Doctors surgeries and at the Hospital, I have decided to return to what I love best which is working in childcare. Looking after children has always been what I am most passionate about, as I find it extremely rewarding to help take care of them whilst creating memories that bring happiness to us both.
I previously childminded back when my own children were young and throughout this time built very positive relationships with families which lasted for many years.
My Qualifications
Tiney Registered Childminder.
Trained in Paediatric First Aid.
Completed training courses through Tiney which covered the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage.
My Availability
We are open Monday to Friday 8am-6pm, however if you require an earlier start then we are quite flexible and will be open to discuss this further.

My Fees
- Childminding from £6.00 per hour
- Babysitting from £10.00 per hour
£6 per hour.
£50 per day.
£7 per hour for outside normal working hours.
£10 per hour for evening babysitting.

From the moment you meet Paula and Sophie you can tell how warm and caring they are, and how passionate they are about childcare. The setting is lovely and it’s clear how much time and thought has gone into making it a nice environment for babies and children- with lots of lovely toys and resources available.
My baby started at Funfields when she was just 6 months old and I had to return to work earlier than I’d like. They were so kind and reassuring, and made what could have been an upsetting time much easier. Being such a caring home from home environment that my daughter also settled immediately (despite previously not being away from me for more than a couple of hours) and has been so happy there.
All in all, I’d highly recommend Funfields!
