My name is Vanessa. I am a British, English speaking Mum and Grandmother, with lots of childcare experience. I also speak a little French. I am 63, but very fit and full of energy.
I am particularly skilled with children under 10, who tend to fall in love with me. Probably because I love them! Animals also love me too, especially dogs, for the same reason. I love to play, paint, draw, read books (with funny voices) and sing. I am especially good at creative play.
I am also a great cook. I love to prepare delicious, healthy meals from scratch. My food has been described as restaurant quality.
I am currently based in Hemel Hempstead, however, I am looking to relocate somewhere quieter. Ideally, I would prefer to be in the countryside or near the sea.
I am looking for a Live-in role, with self-contained accommodation. I have a clean, full UK driving licence and my own car.
My Experience
I am very experienced with children as a Mum and a Step-Mum and recently as a Grandmother.
I currently work as a Part-time Nanny /Housekeeper for a lovely family with two boys aged 4.5 and 2. I tidy and organise their large 4 bedroomed home. They have fortnightly cleaners to help. I do all the laundry, ironing, some shopping, errands, gardening, I also look after the children, who both attend Nursery 4 days a week. And provide evening and weekend childcare, with some cooking and occasional babysitting.
I have also been employed as a Nanny and Nanny/Housekeeper and also as a Governess, in the UK, and overseas including Madeira, Russia, USA and Italy. I have a wide range of other experience, including elder care, dog walking and house sitting.
Children respond very well to me, as I am happy, fun, playful, caring, positive, patient, and kind. I can also be firm when needed.
I have an OFSTED approved Paediatric First Aid certificate valid from April 2024.
My Qualifications
I have a Psychology degree. Lots of on-the-job experience. I have a valid Paediatric First Aid Qualification (OFSTED approved).
My Availability
I am very flexible and can relocate quickly for the right opportunity.

My Fees
- Babysitting from £15.00 per hour
- Nannying from £20.00 per hour (net)
For occasional babysitting, in my local area, my fees are £15.00 an hour. Plus petrol costs, depending on the distance required.
