About Me

Hello there, I am offering my babysitting services for babies, toddlers, and children aged 0-14 years. I am a compassionate, dedicated, empathetic person. I have 10 years working with children in a professional and personal capacity. I enjoy cooking, learning languages, travelling, writing, and music.

How I can help your child

I enjoy doing different activities with children such as reading, arts and crafts, and playing games. I love to laugh with them and keep them entertained. I know some great games to engage babies/toddlers like peekaboo!

I can deal with children who may get upset or angry by using a calm, rational approach and showing them how to regulate their emotions. Through being honest, friendly, and providing reassurance. I encourage children to share their worries and help them address their concerns by talking them through it and seeing if we can find a solution together. If they are a baby or toddler, I can soothe them if they are distressed, I will regularly keep parents updated on what their baby is doing.

If children may take their time to do things or will not listen to my instructions. I can adapt to using different methods of communication whilst keeping a positive mindset and staying calm. If a baby/toddler is not cooperating with something a parent has instructed I will try different methods and gently persist. E.g nap times

I also have practical skills in looking after children and can support kids with basic personal care needs such as brushing teeth, toileting, and dressing. I can prepare simple meals and do basic laundry concerning the child. I can also support them with homework (English and Maths). If they are a baby, I can do nappy changes, feeding, bathing, changing, and putting them for naps.

I am attentive to children’s needs and endeavor to keep them within eyesight. I am aware of my surroundings and can quickly identify potential hazards before they occur. I can respond quickly in emergencies and I am trained in First Aid.

Before I do any new tasks with a child that had not been discussed prior, I would seek a parent's consent and weigh up the safety risks before proceeding with a task.

Young babies – naps, feeding, changing nappies, games, singing/music, massage, simple laundry
Toddlers – potty training, feeding, naps, support with independence, games
Preschool - potty training, feeding, reading, writing, games
School kids – homework, meals, routines

Number of children

I am happy to work with up to 3 children at a time, this is so that I can give them the attention they deserve.
