About Me
I am a mature mother of 2 who has 20 plus years of experience with children and in various healthcare settings for the NHS. I am NNEB qualified, first aid trained and have a held a full clean UK driving license for over 20 years.
I love being with children and always have. I am happy to follow a parents lead in providing care for their child/children and believe that kindness when caring for children and demonstrating positive behaviour is the most important role of a nanny. As well as ensuring that have lots of fun too!
My Experience
I have worked since leaving college after studying nursery nursing in 1995 in a variety of nannying and nursery roles. I then worked in Child and Family Therapy from 1997 until 2001 when I joined the Ambulance Service and worked for the emergency services for 14 years responding to 999 calls. I then worked for 4 years in the NHS Blood Donor Service and at this current time I work in the maternity department carrying out hearing screens on newborn babies. I am London based permanently from July 2024 and looking for a role to reflect this permanent change in location. Due to my previous roles I have a greater understanding of the importance of confidentiality and I have also signed previous NDA's and know the importance of this when working with high profile clients.
My Qualifications
I qualified as an NNEB nanny in 1995. Since then I obtained A Levels in Sociology and Psychology also. I have completed Ambulance Technician training and most recently a diploma in Health Screening. I have yearly First Aid updates in my current role and will be shortly attending a Paediatric First Aid Course. I have DBS checks also in my current role and will happily do further enhanced checks.
My Availability
I am able to be very flexible as my children are older and very busy with their own schooling/university now! I wouldn't want a live in position but would be more than happy to do occasional overnight hours and weekend work also. I am able to travel if needed also and hold a full UK passport.
