About Me
Hi, my name is Karen Elder. I'm a mother to 2 grown up girls and have lived in Alva since June 2001. I have a very friendly Cocker Spaniel named Zola who all the kids love.
The house is a smoke-free environment and I aim to provide a quality childcare service, where children are cared for in a happy, safe environment. A range of activities are provided to allow for stimulation and relaxation of the child and these are geared towards the individual's age and development.
My Experience
I have over 20 years experience as a Registered Childminder as well as raising my own family. I have a strong belief that as a childminder, it is my aim to provide a caring and safe environment for children - a second home where they can learn and grow with confidence. Children are treated as one of the family (and not just a number) where meaningful bonds are made between myself, family and other children.
Throughout my 21 years of being a childminder, I've valued open communication and teamwork with parents, ensuring a smooth transition from home to childcare. Parent's are kept up to date with their children's daily activities and routines via an app.
My experience has also taught me how to cater to each individual children's needs, and I give each child unparalleled one-on-one attention, nurturing their growth in a personalised manner that goes beyond what larger nursery settings provide.

The childminding services are available between the hours of 8am and 6pm, Tuesday to Friday.
