Hello! My name is Melanie. I am originally from South Africa. I have lived in the UK since 2010. I am 30 years old. I am very passionate about children, I have an extensive background in childcare and hold a BSc honours degree in psychology. I am a fun and loving nanny who enjoys arts and crafts, being active doing activities such as swimming and going for walks outdoors.
My Experience
I have 13 years experience working with children age ranges 0 -12 years in a pre school as a voluntary teachers assistant and caring for underprivelaged children in South Africa. I have been an au pair, mothers help and a sole charge nanny in the UK for over 11 years and have 2 years part time nursery experience. I hold a Bsc honors degree in psychology which I studied through the open university between 2013 and 2020. During my studies I covered a variety of child related subjects such as child development and understanding the autism spectrum. I love my job working with children even more now that I am able to understand them better. I have also worked as an assistant in special needs schools around SW London and enjoyed learning about the needs of individual children.

My Qualifications
I have completed school and i have passed with the right grades to attend university. Since then I have a level 3 diploma in child psychology and I also hold a BSc honours degree in psychology. Within my degree I have completed a module based on child development between birth and adolescence which has helped me significantly in terms of understanding different developmental milestones in children. I have also completed a paediatric first aid course as well as an OCN common core skills and knowledge course. I am no longer Ofsted registered as to being off work after having my daughter however I would be willing to become registered again if need be.
My Availability
I am currently looking for a nanny position which allows me to bring my baby with me to work for 2 or 3 days a week and would possibly consider full time if local.
