About Me

Hello, I'm Mel and live in East Grinstead with my partner and little girl.
I am a caring, hard-working and responsible individual, who loves animals as well as being outside. I am currently working as a part time deputy room manager within a nursery and have 10 years of childcare experience. I am now looking for a nannying role and flexible with days and hours but ideally looking for either 2 full days or after school care, in which my 2 and half year old girl can also join me. She is a very sociable and happy little girl who loves being around other children.

I love working with children and am very friendly, enjoying spending most my time outside whether it is feeding the ducks, playing at the park or going to play groups but also enjoy creative and messy activities indoors making sure children have the best experience.

My Experience

I started off working at a nursery as a member of bank staff, working flexible hours and within the three rooms, babies, toddlers and pre-school. Whilst working as bank staff I was able to complete my NVQ Level 3 in Childcare, progressing to a full-time member of staff within the baby room starting January 2013 working with the 0-14month old babies. I progressed to deputy room manager in 2018 and a year later a room manager position became available in which I was successful in. I was room manager for 9 months before going on maternity leave and returning in 2020 as part time deputy room manager.

In the past I have regularly babysat for children of various ages during evenings as well as full days on weekends. This involves having sole care with a wide range of duties including, driving them home from nursery, playing and interacting with them, taking them out for walks, tidying bedrooms and play areas, washing up, bathing, changing nappies, feeding and putting them to bed.
