About Me

Trickey tots Registered nov 10. Have a degree in primary education, BTEC ND Early Years, CRB checked and First aid trained. Recently moved to Highridge. Can pick up from any school. I'm a member of the childminding network and morton michel. I work with my husband Justin as my cominder.

I am a friendly, reliable and creative individual. Previous experience in schools, a creche and as a nanny, working with children 3 months plus. Also have my own daughter born March 2012 and sons jan 2015 and Feb 2017. I have done an introduction to childcare practise course however also have a Level 3 BTEC in Early years qualifying me to work with children and a teacher training degree. I have been training to work with children for the last 5 years doing various placements working with children in schools, private nurseries and special educational needs settings. Since qualifying I have also done various supply work in schools, nurseries and working as a nanny. I am very clued up on all aspects that involve working with children but know that the key factors are to 1) ensure the child is always safe and protected and 2) to aid learning and development by making it fun. I am available for work weekdays as required by the individual and may make myself available for babysitting on the occasional weekend or evening, however would not like to commit to this on a regular basis.

We are big on animals, nature and the outdoors regularly going on woodland walks, attending forest school groups, going to farms and outdoor places. We are currently trying to grow our own veggies and watching our tadpoles grow into frogs. We love our animals and have two Guinea pigs, two dogs and our latest venture is to get some chickens and ducks in which the children can watch them grow from babies, be involved in there care and even collect their own eggs. Hopefully we will do our own hatching in the future.

As far as the dogs go, when in my own home the children will be separated from them most of the time and never left unsupervised. I vacuum/clean every morning to reduce fur around the house and the kitchen as expected would be cleaned daily. Otherwise though Marley and amber have great temperaments and i am 100 pecent confident with them around children under supervision. All animal contact will be supervised and good hygiene upheld. My husband is now my cominder. He brings a great deal to the childminding setting. He is caring, fun and the children have really taken to having him around. He is also dbs checked, first aid trained and has completed the introduction to childcare practise course.
