About Me
I am a mature ex childminder (18 years) . I have recently retired from my role as a school technician and, am also a part time nanny housekeeper, I have recently provided after school care and housekeeping for a family with 2 boys. This role finished in August 2022. In my previous nannying role I looked after a young girl from 9 years old, she is now 17 , and took care of the housework too.
I have 3 children who have grown up to be kind, caring, high achieving young adults of whom I am very proud. I live with my husband of 40 years. Our daughter is married with 2 young children. I cared for my granddaughter for 2 days a week until she was pre school age and did the same for my grandson on Tuesday and Wednesday until September 2020. I am now looking after my new grandson ( born November 2021) on Monday and Tuesday whilst my daughter in law is at work.
I consider myself to be a polite, well mannered and a kind, loving person who gets on with all ages and enjoys the company of children. I raised our children with sound guidelines, love and stimulating fun! I am a capable cook and will prepare healthy meals if given the right ingredients! I am happy to incorporate housework into my childcare role.
My Experience
Having childminded for a period of 18 years whilst my family were growing I returned to mainstream work. As my children grew it became increasingly difficult to "marry" their needs ( teenage boys wanting to play football) with those of children (3 year olds wanting to join in!) who were considerably younger than they were, and so I reluctantly gave up childminding , During my childminding years I cared for many children and babies from 2 months to 12 years. I offered a caring, safe and stimulating environment where the children could flourish, I was continually busy - often tuning "business" away as I was always full..
Whilst I enjoyed my work, I missed the daily contact with children that my childminding gave me and went back to nannying in September 2013. I have recent experience with babies and also school age children.
My Qualifications
I am well educated and can help with most homework "issues" for children up to GCSE - (GCE A level in Sciences!)
I am a car driver/ owner with over 45 years experience and no points on my licence, and am happy to do general housework and cooking
My Availability
Availability on Monday and Tuesday evenings, Thursday afternoon and all day Saturday from September 2022 on. Babysitting possible. No animals please.
