About Me
I am a cheerful, organised and patient ex-nanny looking to get back into 'mummy nannying'. I had my first child at the beginning of May and very excited that I may be able to take her with me when I go back to work! So far she is a really contented little one, she already loves a busy social life!
I am quite a social nanny and love being out and about with kiddies, taking advantage of local toddler groups etc.
My Experience
I have worked in childcare since leaving university in 1995; over 15 years.
I have had various roles in this time;with nannying posts in London, Australia and briefly in Spain. I have been a self-employed behavioural therapist for children with autism and most recently employed for over 7 years as a Portage Co-ordinator in Sutton and Southwark.
In my role in Portage I visited a caseload of families with children with additional needs weekly, accessing their needs and taking activities and toys to improve the child's development.
I have a real interest in working with little ones with special needs, I am trained to deliver the EarlyBird course which is a parenting course for parents of children with a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder.
I am a keen cook and and enjoy preparing healthy meals for children.
My Qualifications
I have a BSc (Hons) in biosciences and health, the relevant bits of this to nannying are my knowledge of nutrition and counselling skills. Very relevantly I have a mature GCSE in child psychology and an A-Level in home economics.
I am very skilled in accessing children's development through my Portage training. I can sign using Makaton, Signnalong and basic BSL and am experienced with PECS and visual timetables for children with additional needs.
I have an expired paediatric first aid certificate from 2007 which i plan to renew very shortly.
I am currently applying to be OFSTED registered.
I have a recent CRB from 2010, this will be updated with my OFSTED registration.
My Availability
I am currently available tuesdays and fridays until 3pm.
Also with regards to my little one being poorly and your concerns around my availability in these times, my partner works odd hours and is often around during the day so he will be on standby for these times!

My Fees
I have done a bit of research into this and as I will be bringing my own little one along I am obviously not going to be asking for the normal nanny rates of £10 to £12 per hour net.
I am probably looking for around £80/90 net a day for a 10 hour day, so £8 or £9 per hour net.
