About Me
Hi my name is Janice Hicks, Jan's Childcare, I have been a registered childminder for 20 years, I am registered with CIW and insured through Pacey, I have a friendly, secure home where I provide care for children from birth to 13. My husband works alongside me providing a positive male role model and also as safety of children is always of utmost importance, an extra person secures this. We are both registered, qualified, first aiders and police checked.
Children get the chance to mix with all age groups, where fun is paramount. Children thrive in a secure, friendly, fun filled setting.
Activities are provided to keep children entertained, children love to take part in art and craft which is plentiful.
Children can play outside in a safe, secure area where they are always supervised.
Activities are arranged around the child's age and stage of development.
Outings are arranged for full day care and holidays which include the beach, jump, bowling, the farm and many more, children are supervised and entertained at all times, normally at no extra cost.
Younger children like , playdoh, construction, puzzles, cookery, messy play, sand and water, role play, dressing up etc as older ones take part in games, and also have quiet time for homework, although older children also love taking part in arts and crafts, cookery, and outside activities, they can also take part in any other activities they wish to.
My Experience
I have had experience as a child minder for 20 years, Have had experience running a successful play group and after school club in a local school. My past experience as well as bringing up our own daughter, gives us the knowledge to entertain and occupy children of all ages. We have both had extensive training in all areas.
I have had experience working for a quality come first childminding network, where high standards had to be met.
My husband used to work at Cardiff International Airport, in the food industry, so alongside that and the food hygiene courses we have attended we offer home cooked meals to all children.
My Qualifications
I have an Extended Childcare Diploma Cache level 3 and my husband has and ICP in childminding practice qualification.
We are both qualified First Aiders.

My Availability
We are open between 7am and 6pm Monday -Friday, but these times are flexible, if possible.
We offer Full Day Care,
Part Time Care, before and after school, nursery/playgroup pickup/drop off.
Term time only,
School Holidays,
Inset Days.
We are flexible to meet parents needs.
We have a 7 seater car and a 5 seater car, which are fully insured for use with the children. All children have car seats and safety restraints on outings, where appropriate.
As we are both registered, we can drop off and pick up from multiple schools, nurseries and play groups.

My Fees
- Childminding from £4.00 per hour
Full day care is charged at £4 per hour per child.
Before and after school is charged at £8 per morning & £13.50 per after school session
Cooked meals with dessert are charged at £2 per meal.
All absences are charged in full.
Bank holidays are not worked, but chargeable.
Retainers are charged if not required during school holidays.
