About Me
I am originally from Wales but am now settled in Aldershot.
I completed a degree in Early Childhood Studies with Education Studies in 2004. Since then I have worked as a classroom assistant in a primary school and as a childcare assistant at a private nursery in Wales before moving away and becoming a nanny in 2010.
I believe that I have a variety of good qualities that are needed in order to be the nanny you are looking for. I am very hard working and love to keep busy. I am flexible with shifts and willing to go into work at very short notice. I have a very upbeat and playful personality and enjoy nothing more than having lots of fun with the children. I can interact well with parents and their families and do so in a friendly manner.
I am a driver with a full, clean licence and my own car. I am fluent in both Welsh and English.
I consider myself to be efficient, creative, and trustworthy with a warm personality. I love working with children and have a lot to offer a family. I’m sure that if given the opportunity to work for you I will not let you down.
My Experience
In my 13 years as a nanny, I have gained a vast amount of experience of working with babies and children, mainly babies and pre-schoolers. I have experience of working with newborns and twins, and can establish good routines for babies which allow them to thrive. My roles have involved washing and sterilising bottles, weaning, potty training, organising and booking age appropriate activities and classes. I cook healthy meals for the children, do their laundry, and have been responsible for organising and cleaning bedrooms and playrooms.
Despite being a sole charge nanny, I have worked alongside Mothers during their Maternity leave and with parents who work from home. I have also accompanied families on holidays and weekends away.
My Qualifications
BA (hons) in Early Childhood Studies with Education Studies. I am Ofsted registered and hold a Paediatric First Aid Certificate. I have also completed a number of additional childcare related training courses, which include, Child Protection Level One and Two, Health and Safety, Baby Signing, An Insight into Infant Mental Health, The Effects of Loss, Separation and Bereavement on the under 5’s and a course looking at Autism and Epilepsy in children.
