About Me

Hi there, my name is Stephanie and I am 28 years old !

At the beginning of 2014 I started working 2 and a half days a week with a family, looking after a 5 year old girl and 2 and half year old little boy and 17 month old little gilrl . In June 2014 I started working 3 days a week with a second family, with newborn twins until they turned 1 years old. I worked with them since they were home from the hospital at 4 days old. Since then I have worked with many other families. One for a short period throughout summer holidays (4 year old boy and 18 month old girl) and then for a family where I worked with them for 2years with a 3 year old girl and 13 month old boy (now 5 and almost 3). Followed by another family with young twins from around 3 months old until 10 months old. I finished that contract in 2019 shortly before finding out I was pregnant with my son and have been a stay at home mum since then.

I have been working as a full time nanny since Februrary 2014 and am registered with a nanny agency so have had full checks done.

Now a little about me.

I have always had a passion for looking after children and helping them to develop in every aspect of their life. Physically, cognitively and emotionally. During my 5th year in high school, I volunteered in a private nursery for just over 8 months. I was originally placed in the 2-3 years room and then was placed in the 0-2 years room where I thoroughly enjoyed myself. I therefore researched more into childcare. I left high school at the end of my 5th year to go to college and study Childcare. I was there for a year and gained my NC (national certificate) in Early Education & Childcare. During this course I had experience in two placements at two school nurseries with children aged 4-5. This confirmed how much I enjoyed childcare and realised it is what I wanted to do eventually. For this course I gained a full disclosure Scotland certificate, which has been re checked and updated early this year (2014) when I registered with the nanny agency. This course also allowed me to pass basic first aid training, food hygiene and a number of units including Holistic Approaches to Childcare, Child Development, Play and Play In Practice, Care and Feeding of Babies and many more.

I then went from college and worked in the Bank for 9months. I worked in account opening and maintenance and thoroughly enjoyed my time there but after 9months left to help care for my elderly grandparents ( grandad had just had major surgery) who moved Into the family home.

A little more about me. I passed my driving test in March 2015, and have my own car. I am willing to take any children in my Care, out regularly for fun activities, wether it be outdoor walks, soft play, parks or places like the Zoo. I feel that this provides huge opportunity to help children learn and develop whilst exploring in safe surroundings. Also allowing them to socialise with other children to develop relationship, speech and social skills. I am a non smoker. I am fun, enthusiastic, trustworthy and caring. I have a gentle personality and am pro active. I love the outdoors and arts and crafts. I thoroughly enjoy planning fun activities for children to help them learn in every aspect of their development. I am sensible and open minded and believe that children develop best with equal amounts of educational play and activities as well as love and nurturing. I am a very warm person and feel that I have a lot to offer a family.

I gave birth to my little boy in March 2020, and have been at home caring for him since. He is now almost 3 years old, and Although I’m not currently looking for work due To medical issues, I’m trying to keep my profile updated so that I can come back to doing what I love when the time is right. When I do, it will be something that will fit in with caring for my little boy. I am also considering setting up as a childminder so that I can have my little boy with me whilst I’m working as I’m dreading leaving him haha!

Please contact me on my personal email if you wish to discuss a job or have any questions regarding if I’m getting back in to work yet etc. Thanks for reading and i look forward to hearing from you:) Stephanie

My Experience

I have had experience with children from birth to 5years of age but have spent the most time with the 0-3 age group. I had 2 placements in school nurseries (children aged 4-5) whilst completing my NC (National Certificate) in Early Education and Childcare at college. I also volunteered at a private nursery for 8months whilst I was in 5th year in high school and worked in the baby room (0-2years). I have cared for my partners little boy (from previous relationship) for almost 5 years now and I have my little boy who is 15 months.

I have nannied for 6 separate families over the past years. Between them I have cared for newborn babies, right up to 5 year olds. Experienced and confident with children 0-5 years but most experience with newborns/babies and toddlers. As well as Ofcourse caring for my own son who is currently almost 3 years old.

I can provide references if needed :)

Steph looked after my twin babies part time for a year. She is a complete natural with them. Even as newborns her ability to interact with them was amazing, they were giggling and smiling really early on. She is full of energy, and yet at the same time she is extremely relaxed as she has had full training and knows exactly what she is doing. I was comfortable handing them over to her completely which was a relief as i have no family in the area. She is very good at doing things how you like them done, while is happy to give advice too.
