About Me

I have now found a position and so no longer looking.
Hi, my name is Carolyn.
I am now available and looking for a new family to take care of full time ( minimum 35 hours per week) and make a real difference to their lives.
I am energetic, hard working, flexible, reliable and trustworthy.
I love spending time with children and wish to contribute a positive influence to their physical, social emotional and educational development.
My experience makes me also well qualified to organise all aspects in the family home e.g. housekeeping, laundry, shopping, running errands, dog walking and cooking.
I have lived in Walton-on-Thames for 23 years and have been involved in my 2, now grown up, step children's upbringing.
A lot of my spare time involves babysitting our 4 grandchildren, four nieces and one nephew, whose ages range from 20 months to 8 years old.
My interests include theatre, cinema and TV. I enjoy cycling, walking and Yoga. I love to travel and try and visit a different country every year.

My Experience

My last post, from October 2013 to September this year when the children were aged 5 and 3, was full time for the Paterson family in Weybridge with boy (now aged 8) and a girl(now aged 6) My duties include school/nursery drop offs and pick ups; arranging after school activities and play dates. Attending medical and dental appointment; helping the children develop their reading and writing skills, particularly phonics and cursive writing.
I provide all meals for the children and prepare a 'cooked from scratch', nutritious evening meal for the whole family.
Whilst the children are at school I complete the daily housekeeping, which includes the family laundry, and run any errands as required.
I was also nannying for a 28month old girl for 15 hours a week. I had cared for her since she was 5 months old and played an important part in all areas of her development. I took her to playgroups, rhymetime, etc
My last post involved looking after the Roberts family in Esher.
They have two children: a girl aged 8 and boy aged 6. I was responsible or the school runs; preparing breakfast and nutritious evening meals; cleaning and tidying the house; laundry. During the school holidays I arranged fun activities; play dates and days out.
I also had an after school position, for the Maloney family which involved picking up a 9 year boy from school ; taking him to various activities ; cooking an evening meal for him and his older brother and supervising any homework when required.

Carolyn was available to help at a crucial time when I'd just had a baby and my 5 year old was just starting school. With painful stitches from an emergency C-section, she took up drop off and pick up for me. It was seamless and she was always on time. My daughter really missed her just after one week of helping us.

She's a gem and very professional.

Short notice ask from us to help out over holiday periods when we felt we need that extra help - plus we had to move house so the kids would of been underfoot to say the least. With Carolyn on board it went a lot better and easier for us. Carolyn matched diaries and was always there on time when expected and the kids took to her straight away.
