Hello! My name is Abbie and I have just graduated with a degree in French and Italian from the University of Hull. I'm looking for babysitting work, ideally regular, or summer holiday help at the moment. As well as my language skills, I'm a keen baker and musician - cello, piano, singing and recorder - so hopefully there's a lot of fun to be had! You will see that I have had experience in numerous settings, from full time residential summer camps to ad hoc babysitting, with ages newborn to teenager.
I began babysitting locally at the age of thirteen and have worked with families with up to four children since, the youngest of whom was just three days old. I worked in an after-school club for a year as part of my Duke of Edinburgh project at the age of 16. I then went on to qualify as a youth leader and led on residential summer camps for 140 children, running activities and providing pastoral support. Thanks to this training I was able to start teaching at my local Sunday School, where I taught classes of 9-11 children, planned lessons and helped on Sunday School trips as needed. More recently, I planned, established and ran a new volunteering group at my university for children with special needs. We took the children (aged from 4-12) on trips - bowling, the local zoo, for a teddy bear's picnic in the park! - once a week. References are available for all of the above experiences.
Educated to degree level in French and Italian (good for homework help!). Fully DBS checked, first aid certificate, driving licence.
I am currently available all day every day!
I charge £7 an hour for babysitting. If you would be interested in using me as a summer nanny or for after school care I am more than happy to negotiate of course.
