About Me

A proactive, flexible, bubbly and experienced nanny with 25 years experience of working with children and young people, previously worked for a family for 10 years. A can do attitude, loving, caring and hardworking.

A proven ability to follow instructions and use my own initiative. A preference to working with preschool and school age children, looking for a full time, part time or a pro rata position which can include full time in school holidays, preferably a permanent role but would consider a long term contract or maternity cover, however I am only looking for sole charge positions. I am a very flexible nanny and I have no problem in working outside of my core hours such as weekends, overnight stays or babysitting should the family require it, but would appreciate as much notice as possible.

I will of course take on meal and snack preparation for the children, plus any nursery duties needed. I have pa and administration experience both from working in an office and as a nanny having done admin for families business during school times. I am also happy to run any family errands when needed for bitt family and children; however not full housekeeping or cleaning outside of nanny duties. I am also happy to look after, walk and take care of any family pets as I'm a huge animal lover.

I have great local knowledge and many ideas for both indoor and outdoor activities. I am a subscriber to creative play and a very creative nanny myself who loves both the outdoors and drawing, painting, baking etc. I am also very pro active and happy to look into out of school activities should you require it, such as clubs, classes, groups and tutors. I'm excellent at providing homework support and will help with any developmental mile stones. I have an introduction to teaching qualification and done some private tutoring, alongside some of my part time nanny jobs.

Lastly I adore children and this is not just a job for me it is a career that I'm passionate about. I throughly enjoy looking after and supporting children and want to be a positive role model in children's live, empowering them and supporting them both educationally and with important life skills.

My Experience

I first started my career working with disadvantaged children with numerous behavioural problems and issues as a residential social worker in children's homes and independent living accommodation. Moving into support work and finally qualifying with my NVQ level 4 in advice and guidance while working for Connexions as a personal advisor (careers advisor and CV specialist).
I'm also a mentor and have both written and facilitated lesson plans and group workshops on basic skills and personal development. Im qualified to work as an assessor for young people in the work place and a have a PTTLS introduction to teaching qualification, very able and capable with providing homework support.

In 2013 I decided to have a career change as I wanted a job where I could be out and about more as well as being able to use my more creative side. I wanted to work with both younger children, preferably school age children or pre school using my existing skills to support their learning and development and decided I would like to work as a nanny or nanny pa; I've never looked back I love it.

During my career working with children and young people I have worked in a variety of different places including children's homes, schools, colleges, youth clubs, Connexions centres, youth offending teams and as a nanny in private homes, so I am comfortable in a variety of different locations and settings working both independently as well as part of a team, in other words also a good support network to the parents as well.

Preetyki (also known as Nancy) was one of the most unprofessional childcarers I have ever encountered, and I am sharing this to protect other families.
She arrived late and produced no documentation whatsoever. The red flags had begun the day before she had demanded full payment upfront before the session had even taken place. Within minutes of walking through the door, she demanded a sandwich. She then planted herself on the sofa and did not move for the entire duration, directing my children to play with stickers or watch a film rather than engaging with them in any way. My eldest told me he was scared of her.
When I ended the session early and asked for a partial refund for the time unused, she responded not with any professionalism, but with abusive messages attacking my parenting style and how she would do things differently (she does not have children and is not a parent) and complaining that I had not fed her lunch.
This is not a childcarer, nanny or babysitter. Do not let her into your home. I wish I could leave ZERO stars.

Response by Avatar for Prettyki Prettyki on 02/06/2026:

This review is a total pack of lies by an unstable mother whose laziness is using television and iPads to parent her children.

I was running late due to bad traffic and road works which I informed the mother on my journey there. When I arrived I did ask for a snack as I’m pre diabetic and my blood sugar levels were low, I felt slightly unwell, I was polite in my request and kindly offered a cheese roll. I did not demand anything rudely.

I tried very hard to engage with the children but the 5 year old was glued to an iPad and tv and the younger child cried must of the time, as wanted the mother who was busy doing an interview. The grandmother took over and settled the child who eventually went to sleep for 2 hours as was exhausted and the mother and grandmother interfered constantly not giving me a change to do anything. To be honest I was unsure as to why she booked a nanny as clearly did not need one. The child refused to come off his screens even though I suggested various forms of play such as games, toy cars and to read him a book.

At around 1.30pm after the grandmother fed them lunch, to add I did not bring my own lunch as was offered curry and rice which never materialised. Anyway at 1.30pm the mother said I could go home as her mother, who had gone out would be back soon. I said are you sure as she had paid me in advance, (her decision) I never asked her too. In fact she is lying saying I did as I would not dream of ever asking for payment in advance. Anyway I said ok if I was not needed I would go home.

When I arrived home there was a text demanding I pay her back for half the booking and I explained I did not have the money as had spent it, but would happily make up the hours and babysit. I was then bombarded with messages saying I had demanded money upfront, which I did not, that I demanded food, I did not demand anything and had not interacted with her children or do a good job! Her only issue was me not refunding the money,

I think it’s wrong and unprofessional to pay a nanny in advance, then say they can leave early and expect a refund. I have on many occasions left a job early but never been expected to pay any money back for an agreed booking by a parent. After all I could of turned down other jobs to take on this booking so how is it right that I should now be expected to pay the parent back?

I would warn other Nannie’s to not work for this family as she is unethical in her approach to recruiting childcare, manages the situation badly and then expects a refund. It’s simply not the right way to behave!!
