About Me
My name is Belinda Lawrie.
I am 51 years old and live in Llandaff North, Cardiff. I have a 15 year old daughter who who attends Bishop of Llandaff Comprehensive school and enjoys having other children around. I am a fun and outgoing person who enjoys going to local parks and beaches as well as further afield. I’m a keen road cyclist.
Coming from a large family myself I enjoy spending time with them and understand the importance of a family environment for children and their development. I currently have space Monday to Friday’s. I can offer wrap around care from YsGol Glan Caebel. I’m happy to discuss. I would also consider temporary care if needed.
My Experience
I have 12 years experience caring for children from 6 months. I currently hold an up to date DBS check and all relevant certificates that the CSSIW require.
I love working with children and enjoy encouraging them to experience new things that will help them grow and develop. Having a daughter myself, I appreciate the importance of a loving home environment and always aim to provide this.
My Qualifications
I have the following qualifications:
Cache level 2 in home-based childcare
Paediatric First aid level 2
Food hygiene
I am also up to date with child protection and all other legal requirements.
My Availability
I am available Mon - Fri 0830 to 1730 and can work some school holidays upon request & negotiation.

Belinda has been looking after our 2 year old son for over a year has been excellent, he is always excited to go to Belinda’s house and loves telling us about the activities and outings that he has enjoyed during the day.
Belinda always arranges fun outings for the children in her care, visiting local playgroups and parks and our son always comes home with an arts and crafts project that he is very proud of! Belinda arranges tasks, games and reading activities which has improved our sons language leaps and bounds.
We always receive regular photos and text updates during the day and get to see what he has been learning or the games he has been enjoying with the other children in Belinda’s care.
We have no hesitation in recommending Belinda and have in fact already recommended her services to a friend who has now chosen Belinda’s setting for her son too.

We have been working with Belinda for many years and as a family we couldn't be happier. She has shown love and care to our daughters at all times. Belinda has been extremely flexible over the past year which has helped immensely with changing work and school commitments.
Belinda always arranges fun outings for the children in her care visiting local playgroups and also making trips to local parks and those further afield too. Our daughters love stay at home activities with Belinda. Her home really is a home from home where she arranges arts and crafts on a daily basis. Our daughters are always happy at the end of the day, never wants to leave and can't wait to return! I love receiving photos and text updates throughout the day showing how they are enjoying their day.
We have no hesitation in recommending Belinda as a childminder. The kindness, love, care and attention she shows the children in her care makes her the perfect choice.

My children have been cared for by Belinda for nearly 4 years. My daughter can be shy, but she settled really well and has always been happy and excited to go to Belinda’s. She treats the children like they are members of her family, and her daughter is so lovely with the children too.
Belinda is very active so they do a lot of outdoor activities as well as playgroups, crafts and meeting friends. I like that my children are in a home based setting while I’m working and they can do some day-to-day things like popping to the shops or helping with baking.
Belinda is very reliable and tends to have smaller groups of children, so I know that my children are getting individual attention when they need it, while also being able to play with others. They have made lovely friends at Belinda’s and we’ll all be sad to leave when my daughter starts full time school in September.

I thought long and hard about care for my daughter (I was lucky enough to have family care for my son who is now in school) and spent ages debating the pro’s and con’s of Nursery v childminder. I was lucky in the fact that friends had recommended Belinda after she had looked after their children.
Belinda tends to do nice family things with the little ones. Lots of play (arts and crafts, cooking, playgroups etc.) She will also visit the shops and parks etc, lots of outdoors time weather dependant. Belinda has a daughter Heidi, who loves the children and is always happy to have them around and play with them.
Belinda is a very warm person and her and my daughter have a lovely bond, I honestly believe that my little girl feels that Belinda is part of our family. She runs into her home when I drop her off and is always happy when I pick her up (Obviously the first couple of times she was a bit tearful).
Belinda offers honest detailed feedback at the end of the day and will also text in the day if my daughter is a bit under the weather or if she is doing something particularly fun.
I honestly can't recommend Belinda highly enough!!
