About Me
I am a 44year old MNT trained maternity nurse, with a CRB police ( DBS) check and I am pediatric first aid trained. I have been working as a trained nanny in the childcare industry for the last 20 + years, both in the private and public sector. I am a highly experienced, self-motivated, professional, I am organised and patient with bags of common sense and a great sense of humour!
Also experienced with 16 sets of twins and 2 sets of triplets as well as singletons.
I constantly update my knowledge of infant care by regularly checking latest government guidelines as well as taking workshops and first aid training.
Being a mother of 2 myself I can see "both sides of the coin" in my professional working life.
I never under estimate the power of emotions, not only what a mother goes through, but also what the family goes through after having a baby and can help them understand and deal with those emotions with great tact and empathy.
I will work closely with the family to bring up a happy, contented, healthy baby(ies).
I have experience in all areas of feeding having breastfed both of my children with differing success. One of my many roles will include supporting other mothers in this area.
I am NOT a old fashioned strict and overbaring or imposing maternity nurse. I believe that bringing your baby(ies) into the world is a gift and I consider it a privilege to be allowed to be a part of their tiny lives at this precious time.
