About Me

Hello, my name is Marie, I am 32 and have been a nanny for 8 very happy years, I have a first class degree in early years teaching, along with 16 years of quality childcare experience.

I am a highly motivated, enthusiastic and caring individual with a positive manner and a compassionate attitude to caring for children- being a nanny means the world to me!

I have volunteered for many schemes that involve children with special educational needs and in particular children with autism.

In my spare time I enjoy socialising with my husband and friends, spending quality time with my beautiful Godchildren. I also enjoy experimenting with new healthy recipes, baking, boxercise going on country walks and I’ve recently started running.

• Holiday Nanny boy aged 4 (Summer 2016 and 2015)

• Teaching Assistant in Early Years (2014-2016)

I worked in 2 very different schools over these 2 years and learnt a lot from my experiences at each.

The first in a very affluent area where the children needed to be challenged and engaged in order for them to achieve their full potential. I worked well within a strong team and helped to plan exciting activities that would encourage a love of learning for all children based on their interests. I also had the pleasure of working 1:1 with a child who has autism, finding ways for him to learn, develop, understand the world and communicate through Makaton and simple signs.

The second school I worked in was in a disadvantaged area and came with a lot of challenges for me to overcome. I learnt how to help children with English as an additional language to settle in to a new surrounding, learn and florish, it was so encouraging to see how quickly they could pick up the English language and thrive through support, care and play.

We also ran some parent workshops which was incredible, there was a huge sense of community and it was a joy to see different cultures coming together and all learning about each others different backgrounds.

• Teacher Training (2011-2014)

*Planning and teaching engaging lessons using the Early Years Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 curriculum

* Building strong professional relationships with the children and their parents

*Being aware of and following health and safety/ child protection procedures

* Being reflective of my own teaching and constantly reviewing where I could have done better and what went well

* Completing a range of assignments about theories of how children learn, child protection and progression of education over time.

• Supply Nursery Nurse & Teaching Assistant (2010-2011)

*Learning to adapt to new routines in a short space of time

* Building relationships with children and staff in new settings so I could take on the role they needed quickly and efficiently

• Level 3 Childcare and Education Course (2008-2010)

I always knew I wanted to work with children right from being a child myself, this course opened new doors for me and was a great introduction to what I needed to do in order to work with children. To help them to learn, thrive and keep them safe and happy.

Marie has been with us for just over 6 months and she has been a total joy to share our family life with. She is highly reliable and punctual and allows both myself and my husband to go to work with complete impunity knowing that our children are in excellent hands.

She has a wonderful, bubbly personality, is naturally talented with children and our kids adore her. She is highly competent at the ‘logistics’ of nannying, managing the school run for our eldest with ease and is easily able to spend the whole day out with our youngest with a mixture of parks, playgroups, countryside exploring and indoor activities. She has even done theatre trips with both our children!

She’s a good cook and it’s amazing to come home after a day at work to happy children and dinner on the table. Our children have flourished with her and I can’t recommend her enough.

Marie has been nannying for us for 5 years since August 2017, looking after our son, now 7 and our daughter, now 5. She has been incredibly caring, fun, and reliable.

She has been a huge asset to our family over the last 5 years. The kids have massively benefited by having such an enthusiastic and loving nanny, as have we! She has ensured they’ve had stimulating days with activities at home, playgroups, parks. Now they’re older she takes them to swimming and tennis lessons after school plus helping with homework and organising meals etc

Marie is incredibly kind, patient and easy to talk to. She has been exceptionally reliable also. She has provided us with 5 great years of childcare and I’m super grateful to her. I’d highly recommend Marie to anyone.

Marie has been our nanny from October 2018 - July 2019 (current), working 2 full days with our youngest son (preschool) & doing tail end school care & holiday care for our eldest son. She has been consistently reliable, punctual, enthusiastic, energetic and warm. The boys always have a great day with her with plenty of trips out to parks, playgroups, museums, swimming and meeting up with other families & their nannies. She has a bubbly personality and is easy to talk to & discuss things with. Children love her and she makes things fun but maintains good discipline. Marie is very competent & when needed, she has managed some complicated days for us and a friend’s family, juggling four children with multiple drop offs, pick ups, trips etc. She is also a good cook & able to knock together meals with whatever food is in the house!
Our previous nanny is returning from maternity leave and we will miss Marie very much.

Marie is an exceptional nanny. She has worked for us for the last 11 months and been reliable, fun and caring throughout. She has bonded fantastically with our two children and been a proactive and enthusiastic nanny for them. They go to parks, playgroups and meet other nannies. We hope she will continue to nanny for us for years to come but we are just reducing her days at present due to a change in our jobs. I can’t recommend Marie enough, she has made my life so much easier and the children have been very happy with her. I wish her every success in finding another family and I am happy to be contacted for a reference.

Marie has been our nanny for the last year looking after our two girls now 4 and 7. The girls are going to school in September, and therefore Marie has moved on to a new family. In the last year Marie has been exceptionally reliable and diligent, always there when needed. The girls have enjoyed their time with Marie in the warm home environment she has made for them.
