About Me
Hi, I'm Alex, I’m 26 and am in my final year of midwifery training. I am available for evening and weekend babysitting, maternity nursing and mothers help roles. I have babysat and nannied for families via childcare.co.uk since 2014.
I am a friendly and outgoing person, I would consider myself flexible and easy to work with. I most enjoy building up trusting, strong and long lasting relationships with children and their families.
I have worked with children and families in different capacities for 10 years now. I started off as a nursery nurse, a role I loved for 5 years while competing my BA (Hons) in early years and childhood studies. I then moved over to the the local authority and NHS where I worked within the Health Visiting service supporting families to ensure the best outcomes for children from the antenatal period to age 5. I loved this role, but after some years decided I wanted a new challenge. I started my midwifery training in 2020. I enjoy supporting women’s choice and physiological birth. I feel passionately about keeping my childcare skills up to scratch as midwifery doesn’t allow for this. The extra pennies also help me now I am back at uni!
I have a full and clean UK Driving license along with my own car.
I am fully DBS checked and have my Paediatric First Aid Certificate along with NHS Basic Life Support training which is updated annually.

My Experience
I have babysat regularly and nannied for families from childcare.co.uk since 2014, I still sit for some of my original families from back then!
My role within the health visiting service for Stockport NHS Foundation Trust was extremely varied. I offered advice and support to families on a wide range of topics including sleep, weaning and behaviour management. I assessed and recorded children’s development and made any necessary referrals to help support their health and development. I ran postnatal groups for new parents, child health clinics, speech and language support groups and stay and play sessions.
I have a sound knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework and am confident in implementing it into my practice. This means I am able to properly support your child’s development from birth.
I have worked very closely with children with special educational needs on a 1:1 basis and in larger groups. I have experience working with children with autism, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, hearing impairments, global development delay, Tuberous Sclerosis Complex and Type 1 diabetes.
As well as this professional experience I also have 7 nieces and nephews who I have been built in babysitter for throughout the years. I also regularly take care of my God daughter who is now 22 months old, and have done since birth.

Alex is just great! It was super easy to get on with her and she obviously has a huge experience. I’m happy how she spent a day with my 10 week old and then provided a report. I felt that Alex is so in tune with me and my baby, definitely will consider her again when we need a babysitter

Alex is absolutely fabulous as a babysitter. She’s really normal, professional, has proof of all documentation and our children instantly bonded with her, which is unheard of for our lockdown baby. We feel completely relaxed when our boys are in her care. I highly recommend her services.

Alex has babysat for us for around 3 years now and she always makes it so easy, we are so lucky to have found her. We have never had any problems and the kids love her. She has dealt with everything from difficult periods of separation anxiety to recognising cows milk protein allergy in our 5 week old, we probably wouldn’t have realised without her pointing it out. Would recommend Alex to any parent looking for childcare!

We’ve have a handful of babysitters over the years and all have been very good. But she is by far one of the best we’ve had. She is an absolutely delightful lady whom I trust 100% with my 5 year old daughter and 1 year old son. She has ample experience, confidence, patience and kindness. The perfect person to have looking after your children. Cannot rate her high enough. :)

We are delighted to have met Alex through childcare.co.uk, this is the first time we have found a babysitter through this website.
Alex came across friendly and professional when I spoke with her over the phone to set up the first babysitting session with our 3 year old boy. I explained that our son is quite shy with new people and that we do not have many sitters, but we are looking for someone that can help with putting him to bed for occasional evenings out and overnight stays. Alex was very reassuring on the phone and it was clear that she has lots of experience dealing young children, including those who are more sensitive.
Alex arrived on time and took an interest in our son straight away, which meant that he warmed to her very quickly. Alex put him to bed and kept in touch to let me know that there had been no problems, which I found very reassuring. Our son talked all about her the next day and the fun they had playing before bedtime. It's great to know that they have hit it off already.
We have booked Alex for another babysitting session next month, which our son is looking forward to already!
