Blocked all of a sudden
I’m quite shocked and disappointed by this maternity nurse. We had agreed that I would call, however I wasn’t able to do so at the exact time due to work and caring for my baby—both of which can be unpredictable, as I would expect a maternity nurse to understand.
I messaged as soon as I could and apologised for not being able to call at the agreed time, so to be called “unprofessional” and then blocked is frankly insulting and feels completely unwarranted. Communication should be met with a reasonable level of understanding, especially in these circumstances.
I would have expected far more professionalism and flexibility.

I’m sorry you felt this way, however I must respectfully correct the record. At no point did I use the word ‘unprofessional’ — this is not an accurate reflection of my message and I have disputed it accordingly.
We had arranged a call at a set time. When it didn’t come, I waited approximately an hour before hearing from you. In your message to me, you explained you had been caught up with work — not, as stated here, caring for your baby. I note that inconsistency.
With over ten years of experience working at a senior level in childcare and maternity, I have learned that how a family communicates from the very first contact tells you a great deal about how the working relationship will unfold. I made a professional decision that this wasn’t the right fit, and I communicated that respectfully.
