My Summary

My Experience

I am currently a teaching assistant in a specialist school for children with autism spectrum disorders and other Learning challenges. I have almost completed my first school year at this job. Prior to this I worked for a year as a 1 to 1 for a children with additional learning needs.

I graduated from university in the USA (2021). I graduated with a degree consisting of psychology and child development. My plan for the future is to train in occupational therapy and possibly counselling.

Before going to America, I worked for 7 years in a private day nursery running the baby room. My roles included all care of the babies including but not limited to; feeding, changing, sleep time, planning and implementing activities, and keeping to or changing routines as needed.

I have a full UK driver’s license, but do not currently have my own car. I also have experience with multiples, different ages, and disability experience (depending on the disability).

My favorite activities to do with children are ones that stimulate and aid their development, especially sensory activities with younger children. I love watching children grow and helping this by providing developmentally appropriate and exciting activities.

Though most of my time was spent with the babies I have extensive experience with all children under 5 and I am confident with children up to the teen years.

While I was at the nursery, I held current food safety, first aid, and child protection certificates, I also held a current DBS check until I left to go to university.

I can teach baby sign as I have done a Makaton training course and hope to continue this training when I am back in the UK. I enjoy teaching children Makaton, as it can aid their speech and communication skills greatly.

I'm my spare time I enjoy ballroom and social dancing, I enjoy reading as well as many different craft activities

My Qualifications

I have an NVQ level 3 in childcare learning and development. (see also my experience for other courses)

My Availability

Mainly looking for summer holiday jobs or occasional babysitting/ respite. I can be flexible, so if you don’t see the availability you need please ask.

My Fees

• Babysitting from £9.00 per hour

Depends on what you need, how long, how many children etc
Usually £9-£15 per hour
