Maternity nurse available from April 2019
I have been working in London as a qualified Midwife for the past 5 years. I have decided to take some time out from full time midwifery to work as a maternity nurse or short term / holiday nanny for children in any age bracket from April 2019. Start date and duration flexible but maximum duration approx 8 weeks.
I have worked as a maternity nurse, nanny and babysitter intermittently over the past 10 years, I thoroughly enjoy caring for children from newborn to teenage years and know that this is a role I take great joy in and is a position that I am keen to undertake again now. I particularly love getting to know and working closely with families, helping to lighten the load to allow you to enjoy the special moments.
I have a very calm and organised personality which is especially valuable when caring for children and I find that children respond well to me as a calm carer.
Being very organised means that I am able to ensure a structured routine / schedule and to plan activities.
I am able to relate well to children and show great interest in their individual characteristics which helps build a trusting and caring relationship.
As an experienced Midwife, I have worked in the hospital and community setting and have gained extensive experience in newborn care and breastfeeding support. Skills which I am keen to share with new parents and utilise as a maternity nurse.
I am a keen reader and swimmer - both of which I enjoy sharing with children. I also enjoy cooking a variety of healthy foods (although not a master chef).
Extensive newborn experience and maternity nurse experience with twins and nanny for older children.

2015 Full time Maternity Nurse
I lived with a family with their new baby from birth to 3 months on a 24/6 basis. I shared a room with the baby at night and undertook all baby care including supporting feeds, changing, bathing, establishing routine, housekeeping of baby facilities, cleaning clothes etc. I took great joy in teaching and supporting the new parents with handling and bathing their baby and supported the mum with breastfeeding.
2015 Maternity Nurse - Twins
I lived with a family and their newborn twins from birth for the first three weeks. I predominently undertook the role of night nanny but would often also care for the babies during the afternoons whilst the parents had a rest. My role including preparing and giving formula feeds, changing, bathing, settling babies and establishing a routine.
I worked as a babysitter for an agency and cared for many families and children between the ages of newborn and 14 years old. This would usually be sole-charge and either at the family home or hotels. I have cared for up to 4 children at a time and my role often included helping with homework, preparing simple evening meals, preparing for bedtime, settling children and giving feedback to parents at the end of the booking.
2012 Regular live-out babysitter
I worked as a regular babysitter for a little boy aged 7 months for approximatley 6 months. I would babysit during the afternoons for a few hours per week, usually preparing and giving lunch, outings to the park and then settling for naps and tidying the nursery. Often mum would also be at home.
I worked as a live-out nanny for a family and their daughter from three months old to eighteen months on a daily basis for approximatley 7 hours per day. I quickly established a daytime routine, bathing, changing, some light housework and taking her to the park or toddler groups. I took great joy in being able to share her developmental milestones with her parents and built a fantastic relationship with the family.

Very kind and professional lady looked after my twin babies for one month. Rachel worked very hard and was willing to listen to parents' needs. Overall, she provided perfect service to us and we are very happy that we had her to help.
