About Me
My name is Emma and I've been a registered childminder since January 2015.
I live in Newbold and am mum to 4 children.
My children mean the world to me and I can reassure you that while your child is with me they will get the same level of care and attention that my own children get.
I believe that children learn so much about life by being in a home environment. Every child joins in with normal day to day family activities. This can be anything from swimming or a trip to the park to Toddler groups and visits to the library or supermarket. My curriculum is based around the 10 steps for school readiness even from a young age and we work on building social skills and independence.
I have a full uk driving licence which I have held for over 20 years and am happy to collect or drop off if required.
I currently pick up from Highfield Hall Primary and Holme hall Primary and can provide references from current parents at the schools if needed.
My Experience
As the oldest of 4 children myself I have grown up surrounded by children. I also have 4 children of my own. All of my children have attended Abercrombie Primary but now are at Brookfield.
During the past 15 years I have volunteered at my children's school and have acted as chair of school PTA, Friends of Abercrombie, for the past 6years only stepping down as deputy chair in anticipation for my own children leaving the school. I'm also treasurer for Chesterfield Town FC and have also obtained my FA level one in coaching football and help run the girls team.
In 2012 I also studied Maths with the Open University, initially with the intention of becoming a teacher. However my experience working as a childminders assistant helped shaped my motivation for becoming a childminder, spending time doing something I love with the added bonus of watching my own children grow up.
I have been minding for over 7 years and during that time have provided care for children from 4 months old to 13 years.
My Qualifications
I have a current Paediatric First Aid certificate. I completed Derbyshire County Councils Basic Initial Registration Training (BIRT) for childminders in 2014.
I refresh my safeguarding training every 2 years to ensure my knowledge is always up to date.
I have also undertaken my prevent duty training and also attended a course on promoting positive behaviour in the early years.
I'm a fully qualified level one football coach.
I have a full uk driving licence and have been driving for over 20 years with no endorsements.
My husband is also my assistant.
My Availability
My normal working hours are Monday - Thursday 745am - 5.00pm and Friday 730am - 4.30pm
I am also happy to accept 2 year olds as part of derbyshire county council's 2 year old funding and 3 and 4 year olds under the new government initiative for 30 hours free funding. (Both subject to eligibility).
I'm also happy to do short term holiday care contracts if needed. Please contact me for my dates and availability.
I am currently full for both EYFS and before and after school spaces until September 2023 but happy to take details and update if this should change.

My Fees
- Childminding from £4.50 per hour
£4.50 per hour
Snacks free, meals included with any after school care exceeding an hour and all half or full day care.
There is no holiday charge for term time only contracts.
All trips and activities are included in the price too.
We often visit local parks, soft play, playgroups and local attractions.

My daughter has been with Emma since April 2019. I cannot thank Emma enough since April my daughter has developed so much. I know that L is safe and happy when she goes. Cannot thank enough for everything that she does.

Our daughter has been going to Emmas since she was 6 months old, she’s now 2 and a half. Emma and her family are truly lovely, caring and grounded people. She is very chilled, understanding and flexible. Her approach with the children is encouraging, natural and relaxed. She doesn’t dictate, judge or think she knows best. As a first time mum I found it very refreshing and exactly what we needed. I can’t recommend Emma enough, thank you!
