The best childminder for happy, resilient kids
Ylva has been working with us since July 2023 to care for our son. When he first started with Ylva, he was just under a year old and had never been in anyone else's care but ours.
As a first-time mum, I was naturally concerned with choosing the best childcare arrangements for our son as I returned to work. I considered nurseries and other daycares but was fortunate to meet Ylva, a fellow Scandinavian who had similar values of how to raise happy, resilient children.
Ylva has been exceptional with our son. After a brief settling in period, he developed a strong bond and trust with Ylva. She is firm and fair, which is important to teach the children good behaviour, and she has been such a positive influence on our son, supporting his development - from social and cognitive to motor skills - and helping him to sleep and eat independently as well as becoming fully potty trained by 2 years old. More recently, she has been preparing him to get ready for school, doing activities and exercises to learn letters and numbers.
She meticulously plans the meals and activities for the children every week, with updates on the story of the week, the nutritious meal plan with healthy, home cooked food, and photos of their outings (which is always the highlight of my day!). She takes them outdoors every day, visits museums and the Zoo, brings them to toddler groups where they interact with other children, and does arts and crafts at home. Our son loves to go to Ylva's and he runs to her door in the mornings where he is greeted with a warm hug and smile.
We feel so grateful to Ylva for her care and support over the past two years; not only is she fantastic with our son but she also provides advice and guidance to us as first-time parents. She is reliable, caring and knowledgeable, and we cannot recommend her enough.
