About Me
I am a registered childminder based in Detling village. My name is Michelle. I got the top grade from Ofsted in 2011 and 2015 OUTSTANDING. Our most recent visit on the 23rd Nov 2022 I received a Good grading with some areas graded Outstanding. I am accredited to provide a free entitlement for families.
I have a lovely family of my own, my partner is Paul, I have 4 children aged 34,32, 27 & 15, my boys have great jobs and their own homes.
I am a member of the PACEY. I was a Foster carer before i started childminding. I am still in touch with my foster children that are now grown up and have good lives.
I have two very small dog
I pick up and drop off at Hollingbourne school only.
I love my job and the children i look after. I have always worked with children and always will. I have lots of plans for my setting, with my assistant's. We will have plenty of outdoor play, messy play, toddler groups and outings. I have a light and airy playroom which has a wide choice of toy's, book, arts and crafts. The children's craft projects and photos are displayed on the wall. I have a mini bus with 15 seats and fitted with car seats. We have artificial grass that the children can play on all the time. We also have a large glass learn too roof over the decking area so the children can play outside all the time if they want to.
I have cared for twins, brothers and sisters, cousins, children from different cultural backgrounds, children with ADHD, children with hearing aids, dietary issues, lactose intolerance, allergies, a little girl with autism, asthma, febrile convulsions .
We believe that every child is unique, and needs consistency and a warm, loving and caring relationship, and the safeguarding and welfare requirement for every child.
My Experience
I have 34 years experience with children including fostering. I would like your child(ren) to feel safe, happy and to feel secure and comfortable with me. Your child(ren) would be welcomed into my home, with the same love, care, attention and respect as my own children. I will keep a daily diary and photo's for your child(ren) so you will know their eating, sleeping and activities together with any other information the parents would like to know by email every day your child is with me. I am Ofsted registered. I am also registered to accept childcare vouchers from Allsave, Computershare, Sodexo, Edenred and Care-4 but would be willing to register to accept vouchers from other providers. I also did take part in taekwon-do classes and can protect your child(ren) and myself. I will continue to train and develop my knowledge of child protection, development and first aid in the evenings and weekends. I use the Early Years Foundation Framework in my planning, activities and day to day running of my setting to make sure the children have a great time while in my care.

In every way, michelle is a brilliant childminder. she is unfailingly kind, reliable, consciention and flexible. She has bulit up a fantastic relationship with my children, and they always enjoy their time with her. Michelle exudes a calm authority, which the children respond well to. She take them out, entertains them, as well as providing ample stimulation for them in her home. I felt totally confident in leaving them in her care. Her naturally caring nature is matched with the experience of having raised four children of her own, and whilst thankfully there has been no emergency situation, I've always felt that she would know exactly what to do if there was.
Michelle has been unfailingly flexible, I can't think of an occasion when she hasn't been able to look after the children, even if asked at the last minute!
I feel very lucky to have found michelle, and I would highly recommend her to anyone.

Being a first time mother I was very concerned about which type of child care to utilise when I resumed work. I looked into childminders & Day Nurseries. I was keen for J to bond with one person looking after him rather than continually being handled by people I hadn't even met.
After looking around at the local childminders I choose Michelle and, to date, am absolutely delighted with the care and attention she provided. Everyday J has been to Michelle's I have written report of the day's events, including feeds, excursions, sleep pattern, photos and what every mother wants, a soiled nappy count! J has always come home happy and gabbles away in his own language. If Michelle is concerned about anything at all she will always give me a call and similarly if I need to get hold of Michelle, evenings, weekends she will always be available. Michelle is flexible when needed. I am never worried about my child's safety as I know she will never let him out of her sight and won't even allow my family members to collect J unless I have told her in advance.
I would recommend Michelle to anyone and everyone! She has put mine and my husband's fears and concerns to rest.

This comes with heartfelt thanks and love for all you've done for O. It seems like forever ago that you first started having her as I ventured back to work. You always did all you could to be supportive and flexible as well as help O through those separation anxieties she had. She will miss coming to you and I know she's grown to love you. Big changes ahead for our family. I might need a few tips on juggling more then two children !! We'll keep in touch as I know O will want to pop in to show you her school uniform.

Michelle has looked after both our children before they went to school and has given them a brilliant platform to make the transition easier to school, the activities she chooses are wide and varied and it really engages the education and fun side of their requirements.
She is accommodating and all of the children respect her quiet authority.
Once your children are at school she can do school collections and drop offs and she creates an environment for learning so it’s like an extension of school whilst not forgetting the elements of play.
I cannot recommend her highly enough our children have benefited massively from her care, experience and ability to engage with all children, you are the best !

My son began attending Michelle’s when he was 11 months old and has stayed with her the remainder of his early years time. Michelle’s setting offers a personal touch and she has practically remodelled her house for the children in her care-she truly goes above and beyond. Michelle’s setting offers regular outings, which unlike a nursery gives the opportunity for children to explore and be adventurous, which I love as they will be spending most of their childhood education sat behind a desk. I’m now continuing to use Michelle as my after school childcare provider. I cannot recommend her highly enough, she cares so much about the children in her care and I’m fortune enough that my son is one of those children.

My daughter has been attending Michelle’s setting since she was just over a year old, and is now nearing her third birthday. I whole heartily recommend Michelle and her team whose emphasis is on developing their charges in a fun and safe setting. My little one really enjoys her time at Michelle’s and the friends she has made there (both children and staff). Mixing with a range of ages rather than being kept in her own age group, as so many nurseries do, has allowed her to come on leaps and bounds. She really enjoys the regular trips to groups, local attractions and parks etc. Regular themed activities prepare the little ones for school. I can totally understand why Michelle has achieved an outstanding rating from Ofsted. Michelle and team are very approachable and flexible, I feel well informed and really enjoy the daily photos and reports available on the Babydays app. Having Michelle and team looking after my little one gives me the peace of mind that she is safe, well cared for and having fun whilst I am working 😊

I started my son at Michelle’s setting at 18 months old and has been going for over a year! He settled in quickly and loves attending. Michelle encourages building relationships in the setting and he has created a little friendship group. We both love that he goes out each day he is there with the regular music groups being the favourite. I love that we get a daily report on what has happened and regular reviews on his development. I would choose Michelle every time!

My first son started with Michelle when he was 2 years old after moving from a nursery, I found that my son came on leaps and bounds with his speech and development whilst in Michelle’s setting. My second son soon joined his older brother in Michelle’s care on my return to work at 11 months old.
Michelle has brilliant facilities for the children and caters to their every need, they are always taken out for the day either to a park, toddler group, farms etc. Michelle and her team also set daily activities at the setting to entertain and teach the children, I am confident that my boys will be more than ready for School due to the skills they are learning with Michelle.
My boys are always excited to attend the setting and are happy at drop off. As parents we have a great relationship with Michelle, she is very flexible and will always try to help with any requests for extra childcare when needed. We receive daily updates including pictures and details of all the activities they have done that day, we also receive reports on our child’s development.
I can’t recommend Michelle enough, we are extremely lucky to have her as the boys childminder.
