I’m Dinah the Manager of Ross Road Childminders: I am the proud mother of 2 very sociable boys, aged 7 and 11 years old, whom I care for with my partner of 20 years at our home, located between Thornton Heath and South Norwood.
I offer a safe and friendly, ‘home from home’ environment, with a cross section of toys, puzzles, books, and equipment which I rotate for variety. I design activities around the individual interests of the children in my care leaving room for exploration, growth and the building of self-confidence.
Because we are located adjacent to Grangewood Park we enjoy seasonal visits e.g. picnics and nature walks in the summer and running through autumn leaves or sleighing in the snow in the winter. We also visit South Norwood Lakes, the Country Park and Dulwich Park. I organise daily outings such as trips to the local library, museum and the farm. We also visit the ‘stay and play’ groups in the area where children get the opportunity to play and interact in various activities while socialising with their peers.
I believe communication and understanding between Childminder and Parent to be of the utmost importance when it comes to caring for children. My intention is to ensure that both parent and child are comfortable, content and happy with the services I provide. My practices and policies adhere to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, which ensures that all the children in my care thrive, learn and grow in a safe and nurturing environment.
Please feel free to contact me I will be happy to answer any questions you may have regarding my setting or service. My home is approximately 10 minutes’ walk from Thornton Heath and 15 minutes’ walk from Norwood Junction train stations. The bus routes within easy walking distance to my location are 196, 468, 250, 198, 130 and the 450. On-road parking outside my home is free.
I have been a registered childminder since 2015, I have experience looking after my own two children.
I have completed the Childminding course required to practice in Croydon, and have obtained the necessary First Aid, Safeguarding and Food and Hygiene certificates.
My partner and I have been DBS checked. I was graded as GOOD on my most recent inspection, October 2017.
My service is available from Monday to Friday between the hours 8am to 5pm.
Additional times outside of these hours are negotiable.
I am also available during term-time, half term and the summer holiday period.

We looked at a number of childcare options for our daughter when she was 13 months, but knew from the first moment we met Dinah that she would be perfect for us.
Maya absolutely loves her days spent with DInah and is made to feel like part of the family when she is there. Dinah has always been professional, caring and flexible with Maya's, and our needs.
They attend a real variety or activities, often to places that we don't visit which is great for Maya and has really helped develop her confidence and independence. We can't recommend her enough!
Dinah has been a wonderful carer for our son for the last year and a half. She is attentive, kind and affectionate, and she and her lovely family quickly became our son’s favourite people in the world.
Dinah runs a really varied curriculum, with lots of days out, activities and interaction with other children and carers. Our son particularly enjoyed attending musical bumps classes and their trips to the Horniman Museum. Dinah made sure that we had daily updates on his activities and progress, and had regular conversations about his progress against the early years framework.
We wouldn’t hesitate recommending Dinah to anyone. She is an excellent childcare provider.
Dinah is brilliant. She looked after my son from age 1 - 3 and he thinks the world of her. Where should I start? Her cooking is exceptional - tasty and healthy. She has a wide range of activities and trips out - she really knows how to educate and entertain those in her care. Her feedback was not only an insight into his progress and what he'd done during the day but also reflects the affection that Dinah shows.
My son has made some lovely friendships with Dinah and those in her care, and anyone choosing her as a childcare provider will realise that their child is getting the best care possible.
