My Summary
About Me
Hello! My name is Jossie and I am a qualified paramedic living in St Albans. I have a little girl of my own, who is one.
I am enthusiastic and fun, and adore working with children. I have pleanty of child care experience and I also hold a full, clean driving licence (held for 10 years) and my own car.
I love arts and crafts, baking, swimming, reading stories, walks in the park and am a very capable cook!
I have copious amounts of energy and patience and have always been incredibly popular with children. I am extremely dependable, flexible, organised and honest. I understand that leaving your child with someone who, initially you don't know very well can be worrying and I will do my best to put your mind at ease that you have made the best choice when choosing someone to care for your child or children.
My Experience
Now I have my own little girl, my experience with newborns and young babies is fairly extensive!
While at university completeing my paramedic training I babysat for several families is St. Albans and assisted with nursery pick ups, day sitting- where we would enjoy going out to the park, feeding the ducks, baking, going to the library, playing and arts and crafts. During evening babysitting I would take care of dinner, bath time and bed and story time. I looked after an age range from 9months to 4 years and would often sit for 2 or 3 children at a time.
Growing up, I would babysit for families in my village 2 or 3 times a week, including days in school holidays, evenings and whole weekends. I would care for a lot of children, but mainly in the age brackets of 2-9. During my A-levels I worked in an after school children's club 3 evenings a week where we would play sports, offer homework help, play board games and give the children healthy snacks.
During my first degree as a physiotherapist I spent 6 weeks working at Birmingham Children's Hospital on a surgical and neurology placement. I was expected to care for new born babies in intensive care, to 15 year olds who needed homework help in the hospital's school. My daily duties, in addition to physical treatment was general care (washing, dressing and nappy changing) lots of playing and entertaining and ensuring the children were happy and at home in a daunting and scary environment.
As a paramedic I often deal with children who are unwell or frightened and I always make sure I am calm and kind and do my best to make them feel better. I will always try to make them feel at ease in a scary sitatuion (a sticker book and bottle of bubbles always helps!).

Joss babysat evenings and weekends for me and was superb. She was extremely reliable and would always try her best to help me out at short notice. She was enthusiastic and extremely popular with my family. I would recommend Joss in an instant to anyone looking for a babysitter.
I hired Joss on a casual babysitting basis for days, eveings and weekends. She was absoloutely fantastic. She was extremely dependable and really great with my kids. When babysitting in the daytime she would always ensure they were never bored sitting at home! Trips she suggested were to the park, sealife centre, days out at the zoo, and swimming. She was always on hand to help with homework if necessary and would cook dinners my children loved if i was unable to makie it home to do so.
I would not hesitate to recommend Joss to anyone looking for a child carer. My kids and I will be very sorry to see her go.
