I'm a friendly, energetic Colombian who spent 7 years living in Spain before moving to London with my husband and now 16-year-old daughter in 2014.
I absolutely love looking after children and have been very happy to work with some great kids in north London already.
Of course my first language is Spanish and with all the families I work with at the moment I only speak Spanish to the children. I'm really enthusiastic about teaching them new words and it's very rewarding when they start talking back to me in Spanish too. My English is improving (a friend helped translate this for me!) but I have some way to go.
My Experience
In Spain I looked after a two year old and a four year old in the same family for four years. I took them to various activities and the park, gave them lunch and did potty training with the older boy.
In London I've worked with four different families part time looking after children between the ages of 20 months to 8 years. I've also taken care of three children at once. I have picked up children from school, cooked food for them, done potty training, taken children out to activities, and taken care of laundry and other household tasks too.

Monica has taken care of our two year son one day a week for a period of 8 months. We have since to the other side of London; otherwise we would definitely have kept her on.
Monica is very reliable, trustworthy and hard working.
Our son absolutely loves her, he gets excited when the doorbell rings and he knows she's coming! We just asked her to always speak Spanish to our son, but she goes a step further and really makes an effort to teach him words and get him to repeat.
When he has a nap she'll cook some food for his dinner and help out with hanging out laundry or cleaning up the kitchen. We've also had her babysit for us and she had no problem bathing our son and putting him to bed.
She's come to our rescue a few times and really gone out of her way to help us out when we've been stuck for childcare.
I talk to her in Spanish and my partner communicates with her in basic Spanish, a bit of English and a bit of Google Translate but they've never had any problems.
