Our son only started at Vikki's Little Vikings in September at 13 months old and settled in very quickly; he will now toddle in very happily and will even close the door on me with barely a look over his shoulder!

Vikki, Claire, Gemma and Jen always open the door with huge enthusiasm and are very welcoming. They very clearly love their work and are dedicated to it.

I love the little crafts/artwork that he comes home with and the daily record detailing how he's been, what he's done/played with, what he's eaten and how much, how much he's slept and when, his nappies etc. This helps us plan our meals at home and how long to allow him to nap once we get home etc.

The daily activities are varied and enriching, but I love that there is a routine. He likes What's in the bag and joining in with the nursery rhymes. I am also led to believe that he's quite taken by Rocco the tortoise!

The food prepared is homemade, healthy and varied which our son enjoys very much by all accounts! He prefers Vikki's cottage pie to mine it would seem!

In terms of practicalities, the setting is very local to us (I've heard numerous children laughing and having fun in the garden whilst pegging out my washing over the last 10 years 😉).

I also love the flexibility with hours, which is not afforded by nurseries. Since our eldest started school, I dropped my working hours to 9am-3pm. The nursery our eldest attended would have charged a flat daily rate regardless, which would be costly and unnecessary. With Vikki, he is there 9am - 3pm and that's it, no additional charges accrued.

Vikki's holiday/off weeks fall within school holidays, which is when we're off with our eldest. That's another win, as a nursery charges for his place whether we'd be on holiday or not.

Most importantly, our son is very happy. I cannot wait to see how he develops and to hear from him directly what a great day he's had at Vikki's!
