My name is Julia I am an Ofsted registered childminder who is passionate about children’s learning and development.
My home is a fun, safe and engaging environment in which children are able to explore in a home from home setting. This is how I believe children can develop, reach their full potential and be at their happiest. I have gained this belief from over 17 years’ experience of caring for children.
I live with my husband and 2 children (both school aged) in a quiet cul-de-sac surrounded by green areas. I have a large bright room with toys and activities for all ages and abilities, which opens out on to a safe and secure all-weather garden with plenty of play equipment and areas to grow fruit and vegetables.
I provide a combination of both child and adult led play, as well as trips out and about to local parks, libraries, farms and muddy walks in local woods or at Wakehurst Place.
I closely follow the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) and each child has their own learning journal and daily communication diary. This enables me to work closely with parents to assist in their child’s development.
I have over 17 years’ experience of working with children of all ages from new-born upwards. From this I have gained valuable experience and I have been able to explore with children through having adventures, fun, teaching and playing.
I have previously been a full-time sole charge private nanny until recently. I was in my last position for 10 years in which strong relationships were formed with both the children and their parents.
Before this I had many more child care experiences including, working in child care settings abroad, long term sole charge nannying in London, new born twin sleep training, caring for a terminally ill child and supporting the family and volunteering at a special needs preschool.
I have many references that I am very happy to share with you.

Our 5-year-old son was looked after by Julia these last 2 weeks (April 2017). He had an amazing time, with fun-filled days, always including outdoor activities and trips, arts and crafts, a little academic work and lots of play time.
Julia is a lovely childminder, showing true care and sensibility for children, having 2 amazing children herself.
We felt in safe hands from the first day and recommend Julia to every parent.
The best tribute to Julia is that we have booked 2 more weeks in July already!
