I am a fun-loving, dedicated 30-year old part-time babysitter. I'm currently studying for my PhD at the Uni of Plymouth. I studied Childhood and Disability studies at undergraduate level, learning a lot about the care and needs of children and disabled people. I now work in the marine social sciences field. I enjoy swimming and art in my free time.
My Experience
I have two years experience working with a disabled young girl and 15 years' experience working with children of all ages. I love babysitting and childcare, have a fun, outgoing and creative personality, and am flexible to help your child with their education, play games or take them on social outings. I have babysat for the same long-running families and new ones in Kent/York/Newcastle/Plymouth with extensive experience with babies, young children, teenagers and families with many children, as well as children with special needs and varying challenges.

We have had the pleasure of having Flossy as our babysitter, and she has truly been exceptional. From the onset, Flossy distinguished herself with her punctuality, always arriving on time for her appointments with us. Her dependability in this regard has been a significant comfort, knowing we can rely on her presence exactly when needed.
What truly sets Flossy apart, however, is her vibrant energy and remarkable adaptability. She possesses a rare blend of enthusiasm and patience, which resonates well with our children. We were very particular in our search for a babysitter who could understand and cater to the specific needs of our children, who come from a trauma background and have additional needs such as FASD (Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders) and ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder). Flossy has exceeded our expectations in this area.
Her approach is both gentle and effective, creating a safe and engaging environment for our children. It's evident that Flossy has a natural affinity for working with children who require that extra bit of care and attention, and her ability to connect with them on their level is truly admirable.

Flossy babysat our two kids (ages 6 and 8) at least once a month when she was living up in York. The kids adored her, she was always smiley and friendly, and also coped with our two dogs around as well!
We would 100% recommend Flossy for babysitting and childcare.
