About Me
I'm a qualified and experienced primary school teacher. Your child will have the perfect balance between fun and education.I will help you to ensure your child is ready for school by effectively delivering the "Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum," having taught for 12 years, including training new teachers. However, the most important thing to me is that your child is happy. Your little one will have a safe, relaxing, varied home from home environment. We go to all the usual places: stay and play, playgroups, soft play, parks, lidos, museums, libraries, the forest, the farm, the zoo, and sometimes the beach.
We go swimming most weeks, and try to make our days really fun and educational.
Each term we have a theme. For example this term's topic is transport. We will be doing lots of creative projects, involving cooking, science, construction and art.
My first language is English, which I'm qualifed to teach as a foriegn language. I also speak A-level French, GCSE Spanish. Additionally, I studied A-level Art and love making things and being creative with the children.
I will have a space available in September 2023 for your child. I pride myself on being caring, being a bit silly with the children and ensuring that they are happy and safe.
My Experience
I taught for 10 years in a mainstream primary school, and for 2 years abroad teaching English as a foreign language. I have cared for (and educated) more than 300 pupils. I also have my own daughters, hence the career change. I became OFSTED registered in 2018. My setting combines the advantage of a qualified, experienced 1-1 teacher with a relaxed and caring home environment for your little one. I want your child to feel welcome and will treat them as one of the family; taking an interest in their interests and doing everything I can to make sure they are happy.
My Qualifications
I have QTS (Qualified Teacher Status),
CELTA (Cambridge English Language Teaching),
Paediatric first aid training,
BA Anthropology,
A-level French, Art, Sociology.
I am OFSTED registered and rated "Good" in 2022.

As a first time Mum it was daunting to leave my son in someone else's care. But Tara did a great job of making both of us to feel comfortable. My son began with Tara when he was 10 months old and he has come on leaps and bounds since he's been in her care and thanks to her ( now 3 years old ) is so ready to start Nursery.
It has been so reassuring to know he is somewhere safe, and cared for but also someone who is interested in his overall development. When he is home the work she has done is reflected in his behaviour and skills. I'm always impressed by the activities and trips she has taken him to including Museums, the seaside and the Zoo and activities such as Swimming, Soft play and the local Stay and plays. She has ensured he is rarely indoors and out gaining new and varied experiences.
Tara has supported us at every stage including fussy eating and transitioning into potty training. She has been patient and flexible especially in regards to changes in pick up times and regular communication. I always look forward to her daily photos and texts regarding my son's day.
He loves going to Tara and raves about both her and her daughters they have all made him feel part of the family. Both of us will miss them very much. The next family she works with will be very lucky.

Thank you guys. I will miss being a part of your son's life too. It's been an absolute pleasure to be a part of your son's journey and watch him develop into such an awesome little dude. I hope we'll stay in touch!
My experience with Tara has been excellent. Sometimes I need to work long hours and Tara has always provided a homely environment so my little one didn't miss me;so much so,that a few times I have come to pick my daughter up and she would continue playing with Tara's girls. The same happens at the time of leaving her, she just jumps out of her buggy to join Tara and the other kids.
She's also very flexible, which for me, as a single parent working full time was key. I definitely recommend Tara, not only because she is a good person and you can see that in the way she treats and talks to the kids she looks after, but also because of her teaching background, she knows how to introduce gentle rules that help the kids to play and interact better together ( sharing, speaking nicely, saying sorry when they the are a bit naughty..etc). My daughter and I will definitely miss her and her girls when it's time to move on.

Hi Neila, thank you for your review. I have very much enjoyed looking after your daughter and I will miss her enormously! It's been my privilege to look after her, I'm sure my girls are going to miss her very much too. Good luck in your new endeavours.
Tara has looked after my little boy for nearly two years now and has been the most fantastic childminder. She has welcomed him into her home and truly loved him like a member of her own family. My son adores going to her home and playing with the other children, he always talks positively about Tara and is very happy with me leaving him there for the day. I have been so impresses with Tara's caring attitude towards all the children. Always loving and patient with them, teaching them how to share and play nicely with one another. This creates such a nice atmosphere in the home as the children all really care for each other and have become great friends.
I have always felt well informed on my sons well being as Tara gives daily updates via text message and photos. She will always give me further verbal feedback on the days activities at pick up time. She has been supportive of developmental stages such as talking, independent eating, potty training etc and its been great to see my son grow and learn under her care. I am constantly amazed by the new skills he has picked up and thrilled to see him learning naturally with the support and guidance of Tara.
When needed Tara has always been as flexible as possible if I have needed to do a later than planned pick up or add in an extra day and I have felt really supported and helped by her. I would 100% recommended Tara to anyone in need of childcare, she has been wonderful for my son and we will miss her so much once we move.

Thank you so much. It has been my absolute pleasure. I will miss you guys.
Tara has been an exceptional childminder for my daughter. Tara was the first childminder I had left my daughter with so I was anxious however once meeting her I instantly felt more relaxed as I could see how she interacted with my daughter very well and engaged with her.
On the first day she kept on communicating with me and updating me on their day with pictures so this gave me further reassurance that my daughter was well.
Tara is also very kind and thoughtful by offering to provide myself and my daughter food to take home, she would ask if I wanted my daughter bathed before I came to collect her. In addition to this she was very flexible in terms of if there were any possible changes and you discussed it at the earliest convenience she would be very accommodating.
All in all I would 100% recommend Tara from my great experience!
