Hi my name is Lizzie and I'm a fun, caring, trustworthy and motherly Nanny with 2 older sons who have grown into lovely, respectful, kind young men so I feel I have a lot of experience to share with other families. I have cared for 4 children so far over the past few years and have enjoyed every role and developed close bonds with the children. I thrive on being a Nanny and treat each child like one of my own. I still have a good relationship with my sons but feel lost now they're growing up and need me less! My hobbies are walking my collie, drawing portraits, astronomy and visiting National Trust sites/garden centres. I also like baking when I get time and making my own chocolates. At the moment I'm decorating my house so I'm extremely versatile and proactive with a "can do" attitude. I'm very young at heart despite being an older Nanny and believe anyone can achieve anything. I believe in teaching children good manners, respect and kindness for each other and animals and the value of money. I also believe in having fun with the children, talking and listening to them and making their day a happy one with lots of laughter and giggles!
I love the outdoors so will happily take out your child/children to the park or other outdoor activities and also love animals so would be happy to take your dog on walks too if needed or feed any pets (I have experience with cats (I have one), dogs, rabbits and also walk my mums 4 dogs!). I also love wildlife and have rescued several in need including foxes. I will enjoy engaging in fun and educational activities with your child/children and not just sit them in front of a TV. I'm hands on too and willing to help you in any way possible from doing the school runs to running errands and even light housekeeping and cooking for the children and with them. I have a car and a full clean driving licence with 32 years experience, although I'm happy to take public transport if you so wish as this has been a preference of some parents which is fine. Children love buses and trains so I enjoy giving them a range of experiences. Also have undertaken trips/dropoff & collections by foot so the children can take bikes & scooters to and from local parks/nursery and school etc.
I don't yet have a Paediatric First Aid certificate but am going to arrange a course when I can. I'm looking for mother's help or nanny positions as I'm not a registered childminder. I'm willing to consider temporary positions but preferably would like something permanent.
[There is a gap due to Covid and the restrictions on mixing that followed and also my elderly mother needed more care during the pandemic and after the pandemic so I devoted my time to her. A close family member has now retired and moved in with her so will be sharing more of the responsibility allowing me to pursue what I love and miss doing the most].
My Experience
2019 - temp summer role caring for a 3 year old boy at home and on trips. 2017-2018 sole charge Nanny of a 2 yr old girl. Previous to that 4 months in a Nanny role caring for a 3 yr old and 5 yr old part time and also assisting with childcare for friends of the family in an emergency. Taking care of the family pets including kittens and chickens! 19 years of raising my sons with no outside help. 2.5 years as a Learning Support Assistant at a local primary school. This involved one to one help with a special needs child and supervision of large groups of children at playtimes. Supporting teachers on school trips. One to one support in the school's reception 1 hour a day helping a child to learn the English language. Caring for the elderly (family and non family) and housekeeping roles for 3 years. Babysitting for friends and family. (Previously secretary for many years until my sons were born then chose jobs around their needs). Occasionally caring for my partner’s adult son who has Down Syndrome.
I am now a real Nanny to a beautiful baby granddaughter! She is 4 months old and I have occasional sole charge of her which brings me so much joy.

AVAILABLE FOR BABYSITTING EVENINGS, WEEKENDS (DAY OR NIGHT - DURING THE DAY IF YOU WISH TO SPEND THE DAY WITH YOUR PARTNER, FRIENDS, GO TO AN EVENT OR EVEN SOME SELF PAMPERING TIME!) I AM VERY FLEXIBLE. OR IF YOU'RE A PARENT NEEDING SOME HELP AT HOME WHILE YOU HAVE A BREAK FOR A FEW HOURS HERE AND THERE I'M ALSO HAPPY TO HELP WHERE I CAN.
I am flexible on days/times but ideally looking for 2 - 3 days (as now I also look after my elderly mum). I'm not available every day all day and night as below it just means I can adapt to your needs within the criteria above. If you need a babysitter and even someone to care for your pets too some weekends I'm only happy to help.
