About Me

I,m fully trained Nursery Nurse NNEB and a Maternity Nurse. I,m passionate about Newborns and helping Mums settle their new one into family life.
I have the added bonus of being a Mum with 3 girls that were all successfully breast fed. I,m also a young Granny (up to date) to 3 small grandchildren.
I,m easy going, very organized and methodical in my work and will do my utmost to give you the best support I can. I can drive and cook so dont mind doing that if you need to rest and want to give your new baby the full attention that it will need.
I have worked with children of all ages and am told I have a calming effect on babies. I try to look at things from their perspective but at the same time putting good control and guidance in so that they become happy and contented babies.
For a Mum that is looking for excellent support think of me as a good investment.

My Experience

Late 60,s and early 70,s I worked as a Nanny in London. I also worked for an agency looking after children of parents that were on work assignments in the UK. Then I started my own family and in the late 70,s went back to work running a Day Nursery for about 5 yrs. I then had another baby. After that I became an Interior Decorator.
In 2007 I did a refresher Maternity Course.
I have a natural ability with babies and so from my training and experience I will be able to guide any Mother with feeding, sleeping, setting up a routine and generally be there for you with all the worries that a mum can have with anew baby.Recently I have looked after 3 Prem babies. They all did great and quickly regained their birth weights. 2 of them were Twins.
Since starting this profile I,ve had 2 Maternity jobs...both looking after Prem Babies. The 1st a 4ib..was 5lbs 5ozs 2 weeks later. It was a lovely job and got a great ref. Mum was very happy with the help I gave her.
The next assignment was with Twins,,Florence and Sabastion...delightful.

Both of these Mums will happily answer a phone call from you if you want to check.

More recently Iooked after Otto who was 3wks old as their Maternity Nurse was taken sick and here,s what Mum had to say
" My husband and I found Mandy an absolute delight to be around. She,s fun and
chilled out but above all she,s a 'mummy' and a ' granny' and is therefore
incredibly easy to talk to. Having had a few Maternity Nurses in our time ,( they have a 13 mouth old daughter) Mandy is by far the loveliest to be around. She
absolutely knows when to make herself scarce and never makes one feel
uncomfortable. Her priority is clearly to make sure the baby is happy and the mother is well rested and able to get on with recovering and enjoying the first part of her baby,s life. I would highly recommend Mandy to any new mother."
KS Jan 2012.

Mandy came to help with us for a short week with our preemie twins when they were still very tiny (5 & 4 lbs), she was very experienced, calm and great with the babies and helped get them into a routine. She also helped around the house and got us to the doctors for their check up and helped stock our freezer with delicious food. So overall she was great with our tiny precious babies who had just come out of 6 weeks in neo-natal and a great help around the house enabling me to feel myself again and have a breather- worth it even for just a short while!
