I am very well educated and bilingual professional with experience in the field of childcare and infants education, with a keen interest in child development. I am originally from Brazil, where I used to work as a graduated primary and high school teacher, as well as other children’s related activities. My approach to childcare is essentially from a place of service. My aim is to help people, offering the best of my skills to make the world a better place. I have a very child-centered approach, focusing on their global development; being 100% child-led, I pay a careful attention to attachment and have a natural inclination to encourage bonding. Trust is the heart and soul of my work philosophy in childcare, as I believe that a strong and harmonic relationship with the parents is the ground for building a stimulating environment for the children.
On a personal level, I like to believe that I am of a humble, honest and enthusiastic nature, who is kind to all creatures, especially the little or vulnerable ones. I am also a very positive, good-natured, conscientious, and nurturing person, who is genuinely in love with the little ones. I truly believe in kindness, compassion, generosity, and integrity.
I am into humanities; literature, arts, science, sports, as well as meditation, self-awareness, human development and pretty much everything that a creative mind can reach are dear to me. I am also deeply connected to nature and fond of a healthy lifestyle as well as sustainability, DIY ethics, and environmental awareness. I do love languages. Portuguese is my mother tongue, but I also speak some Spanish and have a platonic love with French. English is by far my (second) favorite one. I have a good command of English, although far from being perfect fluency. However, my native fluency in Brazilian Portuguese can make your little one acquainted with this language unless you clearly determine otherwise.
If my profile resonates with you and my availability fits into your requirements, please do not hesitate to get in touch. I am always happy to hear from like-minded and well-educated families in need of childcare.
I would say that I have a lifetime history of caring for and educating children. Back home I used to work as a primary and high school teacher; private tutor, volunteering with teenagers and helping to bring up my nephews. Moving to London, I had the opportunity to work with
children in home-based care. I entered in the field of childcare in 2011, when I first came to London to study English. Then, I worked for about 2 years as a nanny and tutor, looking after young children, especially babies and toddlers. Upon my return in Brazil, I worked as a consultant, mentor, life and career coach, coming back to London in 2015, as an academic visitor, to work in a project under the tutorship of a renowned English scholar. Since then, I have been doing part-time childcare, mostly working with small babies, toddlers and young children in general.
I started helping with a down syndrome teenager girl, then I worded as a helper in a child-minding set - where I discovered how good a connection I managed to establish with babies and toddlers - then, moving on to providing sole charge services both as an after- school nanny and looking after babies and young children. I have a slight preference for working with early years (0-5), but older kids are always welcome.
* Unless otherwise agreed, housework is limited exclusively to spaces related to children’s daily needs and social activities under my supervision.

Rose helped us with short-term emergency care which involved pick-up from school bus, doing homework and caring for my daughter for ~2 hours a day, for a week. Rose quickly established a good relationship and sense of trust with my daughter and she was happy to be alone with Rose from the get go. Rose was reliable and dependable.
Rose took care of our 1 year old daughter for 1 evening and everything went perfectly well. From the beginning (she was very punctual) to the end (she gave us all necessary information on our daughter during her shift).
I went back to work earlier than expected and our childminder didn’t have space for another few months so at short notice we needed to find someone flexible who could look after our daughter 2-3 days a week for the next 3 months. As I was going back to work for first time, it was not only a practical arrangement, also felt very emotional with a lot of worry about leaving our daughter (and first baby) for the first time. Thank goodness we found Rose. I had an initial chat about what the plan was, and candidly what we were anxious about, and Rose set us at ease. She was clearly experienced with babies ours’s age, as well as older/younger. She has a policy we loved of going out twice a day no matter the weather, so she would get plenty of fresh air and park time. And was very happy working with the schedule we were working to, and to feedback on whether she thought it need tweaking/amending as our daughter grew.
We had a couple of settling in afternoons before Rose started properly, and this also helped us feel totally re-assured our daughter was in the safest of hands. Rose is absolutely baby-focussed, giving them her full attention and always responding to how they are feeling and what they need. She is inventive, finding baby groups we didn’t even know about locally, as well as taking her to some of her(/our) favourites. She was always keen to learn – we told her we’d been doing ‘sing and sign’, and our daughter loved the songs and actions, and she was keen to go and see it for herself and learn the actions.
(There were many magic moments that stood out from her time with us – one being the impossible. We have stairs almost everywhere in our place, and had decided not to put stairgates in, hoping to teach our daughter from the earliest point to be careful when climbing. As Rose took her on, she was at the stage of climbing stairs, but not yet having any idea of how to go down them. Within one day, Rose had (somehow) taught her to crawl up to the stairs, turn around and go down backwards. Absolutely amazing. And still makes us laugh at how carefully she turns and gently goes down them)
We needed a babysitter at relatively short notice for our two children, and Rose was friendly while being professional from the get-go.
She asked pertinent questions, arrived on time, and even managed to get our baby back to sleep while we were out.
I recommend Rose wholeheartedly.
We used Rose when our nanny went on holiday in Feb 2018 for a week. We were also in the middle of moving house so things where a bit chaotic.
Despite this our daughter (4 years old at the time) quickly settled with Rose and it was a smooth week. Rose is intelligent and kind and our daughter responded well to her. She also took initiative and found some local activities to do with our daughter. All in all we would definitely use Rose again and I feel that is a strong a recommendation as any.
