I am a Christian and was a neonatal (newborn) and children's nurse for 40 years. Following general nurse training, I made further studies and became an a midwife, and then, a number of years later, a neonatal nurse (looking after sick babies). I have also looked after children in hospital, and at home (both well and unwell), over a number of years. I am DBS checked, but subscribe to the 'update service' and so do not have a paper copy. I can, however, send a screenshot of this.
I have looked after sick children for many years (hospital based) and also a young boy at home giving palliative care. I have worked as a maternity nurse for a number of families, (in my younger years), immediately after leaving midwifery, and continued on as a nanny with one family for 9 months. I have worked with newborns, sick babies and children, since 1987. I love my work, am very fit, active, and in good health (the photo was taken about 5 years ago). I decided to take full retirement in August 2018, and made a decision to remain in a job looking after children and babies. I have been kept quite busy offering childcare, both ad hoc and on set days, over the last couple of years; it keeps me in touch with the world, and I believe it is good to keep working :). I have enjoyed working in a different type of environment.
I am currently working towards Ofsted registration, and updating safeguarding and first aid certificates.
RN, RM, Neonatal Nurse, BSc (Hons). I am not sure what else to say here, though the site is asking for it.
I am now retired, and so no longer on the nursing register. DBS check was last carried out in April of this year. I can provide my personal ID code, or a screenshot of my status. Working towards Ofsted registration (though I am not a nursery nurse with a childcare qualification, so unsure if it will be possible). However, I undertake First Aid and other childcare course training annually.
I am free for ad hoc work (including evening babysitting) until September 2nd, following which work needs to be flexed around a Tues/Weds/Thurs after school booking. Happy to discuss infection control measures.
I am registered with the HMRC as self employed, which is much easier and less costly than running a business, so cannot currently offer Tax Free Childcare. I'm happy to travel up to 30 mins for work longer than a couple of hours, as otherwise travel costs eat into the hourly rate. Happy to negotiate hours and rate.

- Babysitting from £8.50 per hour
- Nannying from £11.50 per hour (gross)
To discuss, depending upon requirements. My fees set out below. I offer a lower rate to NHS staff of £10ph. I pay taxes on earnings, make NI contributions, plus there are travel costs, public liability and business car insurance, and training costs ( such as first aid training) all of which must be covered by through the hourly rate. However, I am very happy to negotiate. Just ask me :) [I have recently raised my rates due to increase travel costs - the autogas that my car runs on now has limited availability and so I will be using 4* for most journeys)

We have just used Bridget to babysit our 8 month old. This was the first time we have been out without a member of the family looking after our little one, so were apprehensive. From the moment we contacted Bridget she put our minds at ease. She was able to give a reference for us to contact and was reassuring. She has kind hearted and friendly personality, we felt confident he was in safe hands. Highly recommend
