Hello! I'm Charlotte and a primary school teacher from Marton-Le-Moor (village close to Ripon and Boroughbridge).
I am currently doing supply work within primary schools whilst searching for a permanent job as a Primary School Teacher. I have been teaching for a year, having just completed a maternity cover at a village school in York with a mixed Y3/4 class.
I am looking for the opportunity to earn a little bit of extra money at the weekends or evenings whilst still working within the childcare sector.
I'd like the opportunity to put my teaching skills to good use and be a private tutor, although I would also be interested in childminding.
Being a teacher, I am confident with the primary National Curriculum and I would say that my subject knowledge is one of my great strengths. I am very creative and feel that the learning experience should be as interesting and engaging as possible. I therefore plan lessons and interventions that are as interactive and innovative as possible to ensure the children have the most valuable learning experience.
I have a very welcoming and fun personality which has enabled me to develop strong relationships with the children in my care. I've always had an artistic flare, and this is something I've brought into my teaching. I'd love to do arts and crafts activities if childminding, allowing them to try something new. I'm also quite sporty. Big football fan, and ex ladies footballer. I also run and keep fit.
PGCE Primary Teaching (5-11) with Qualified Teacher Status. From July 2017 until December 2017 I was a supply teacher, teaching across the primary age range. I then gained my first position at Sheriff Hutton teaching a Year 3/4 class. Unfortunately this was only a maternity cover and I find myself supply teaching again.
Whilst at Sheriff Hutton I supervised children on multiple trips, including a residential to Bewerley Park and a 5-day trip to Sweden. I set up and coached a girls football team and coached the kwik cricket team. I'm the kind of person who goes above and beyond.
Worked at a Primary School's After School Club as a Welfare Play Supervisor, playing games, setting up craft and sports activities, preparing food and the general supervision of children.
Worked in America at a summer camp. I lived with and looked after a bunk of six 8-year old girls each summer (returned for 4 summers). This entailed waking them up in the morning, making sure they'd washed and brushed their teeth, making sure they're wearing clean clothing, keeping an eye on their eating habits (making sure they're eating enough) and ensuring they know where to go for each activity during the day. I was also the camp's video counsellor which meant I taught filmmaking to campers aged 10-17.
PGCE Primary Teaching (5-11) with QTS - Merit
BA (Hons) Film Production - 2:1 Degree
English Literature - C
Geography - C
Film Studies - B
Art - B
I would be available weekends and within the school holidays.
Evening work would depend on my supply teaching schedule during term time.
