Clair

unprofessional and unreliable

Clair has been our nanny for the last 2 and a half months (since November 2021). She has looked after our children (aged 1 and 4) on a 3 days a week basis and we have just had to let go of her because she was unable to perform her basic nanny duties and she was overall unprofessional and unreliable. Specifically:
- Clair had 4 or 5 last minute sick absences. This is a remarkable amount in a short employment period.
- Clair didn’t cook or ever offered to cook a single fresh meal for my youngest, relying instead on baby pouches every day.
- Clair left the baby’s changing bag in a messy way (full of crumbs, used tissues and dirty spoons) every day. Same for the high hair, which was never cleared off food leftovers.
- Clair did not respect my 4 year old’s screen allowance (45 minutes per day). It transpired he had been put in front of the Tv for 1.5 hours at a time whilst under her care.
- she was a very poor communicator. She never mentioned any concerns shout my kids behaviours until the last day, when she exploded in an unexpected way and said my 4 year old was “too much hard work”, “too demanding” and asked that we up his nursery hours if we wanted her to carry on working for us.
- Clair is still in possession of some of our belongings she was using for work (our buggy, car seat, spare house keys) and she is ignoring our multiple requests to have our stuff back. We have been left with no option than to contact the local police.

First of all I’m in total shock!! I’m a very positive person and had no idea that Luisa would be this nasty just because I wanted 4 days work and NOT 5.

As she is a Lawyer I have found her very intimidating as I have been threatened and lied about with NO reason. Luisa always loved me being with the children and called me Mary Poppins !


This is the first EVER complaint I’ve had in 32 years as being a Nanny/ Governess.

This is the first EVER negative comment I have EVER had. My references from previous families 100 per cent PROVE this.

I feel Luisa may be suffering with post natal depression and separation anxiety. I tried to reassure her that this is quite common but help is at hand if she needed!

I never had 4 days work she always lied and gave me the odd few days here and there. Lied to me about guaranteed work and always wanted me to book and take holiday and time off because she wasn’t happy in her current job and hardly worked at all.
Hardly EVER at her desk! I gave her and the family 💯 percent every time I babysat the children.

I did not want to commit to 5 days a week as I only ever agreed 3-4 days.( Luisa never gave me regular days she was always messing me around) As Luisa then found a new job she tried to bully me into doing 5 days but I was not wanting 5 days at all as I was interviewed and employed to cover 4 days! ( which NEVER happened )

I did cook fresh meals and freeze them and always prepared lovely healthy foods for her children as well as pouches.

I had 2 days off sick and Luisa sent me home after I caught her sickness bug, as I turned poorly while I was babysitting the children that day.

I had rude messages and was bullied as I didn’t answer the phone because I was sick I was harassed for not returning her buggy etc, that exact day the first day of my bug.

I returned her buggy by Uber and honestly don’t know where all of this hatred has come from. Such a shame someone finds pleasure in trying to hurt someone when all they wanted to do was help and find a loving POSITIVE family to care for.
