Heather has looked after both of my children ( Perla & Sofia) since they were 9 months old through to starting school and has done a fantastic job at helping them become kind, confident, playful kids. She is warm and welcoming, funny and light hearted and extremely flexible.
I chose Heather as she has a great setting with great toys to stimulate and develop their little brains. I loved the fact that she can put all the kids in her car and be free to go wherever she wanted, those trips were what you just don’t get with a nursery. I wanted my kids to feel like they were at home where they had loads of time playing, space to be themselves but also with some structure and routine.
Heather has a great reputation and is always in demand. She is so professional and takes immense pride in providing an excellent service. She is organised, structured and could hold a conversation at the same time as keeping tabs on what the kids were doing around her. She has looked after the children consistently with positivity. That freedom and exposure to so many activities, environments and experiences has definitely had a direct impact on the happiness and roundedness of my kids.
The kids have themes, seasonal projects or some input on specific events like Mothers Day or Chinese new year. Their achievements, art work, cards, is all kept and recorded. Her handover at the end of the day has been invaluable to see what your child has done all day through a detail description.
I can genuinely see how much Heather loves children, she has been in this business for a long time now so knows what makes kids tick, how to make them feel at ease with a laugh and a joke but has clear boundaries too which I loved.

My daughter (R) joined Heather’s Happy Hedgehogs in July 2022 and settled in brilliantly. R often comes home telling me about the craft/pictures she made and the people she played with. She loves being around the other children and tells us about the things she’s done and seen each day. The summary we get each evening is really helpful for starting conversations with R and we love getting a picture or two throughout the day so see what the hedgehogs are getting up to. It really is a home full of love (and stocked full of toys!) and we are grateful to be able to send R there

Our little boy started with heather about 3 years ago and we have never looked back. Heather is kind , caring and provides a loving home for the children . It really feels like a home from home , and this is apparent in the friendships the children built with one another too. She is extremely active with the kids and keeps them busy with outings , art and activities . Her genuine love for children is demonstrated in the high quality care she provides and how comfortable and attached the children become to her . She takes an individual approach to each child from learning needs to dietary requirements, this has been be important in managing our son's allergies. She is someone I would highly recommend to others and hope she will continue to be a part of our son's life .

Heather looked after our daughters for a month when we were moving and needed a temporary childminder. They absolutely loved going there and it felt like they had been going there a lot longer because they settled so quickly. Heather kept them really busy with loads of different arts and crafts activities adapted for their different ages, plus loads of play and trips to the playground. They loved playing with that other children and we felt really well updated about what they were doing each day. The girls really missed Heather once we left and I think that showed what a warm and welcoming childminder she is
