About Me
Hello, we are Halima & Hermelinda, two professional child carers with over 35 years of experience between us. Our goal is to provide your little ones with a home away from home. We look after any ages between 3 months - 5 years.
We are based out of Kings Cross. H&H is based in a stimulating area, and we make use of and enjoy the parks, libraries, and under 5's drop-ins, the fountain in Granary Square is a 2-minute walk. Our children get to go out daily unless they are feeling under the weather in which case we stay indoors.
Halima is a registered childminder with 17 years of experience. “I love my job and could not think of anything else that I would want to do with my life. I have two children of my own aged 22 and 23. Everyone in my community and all the kids I have looked after calls me ‘Aunty’”.
Hermelinda has been working in early years education also for 17 years.“I have always been passionate about early years education and am convinced that developing good habits around physical activity, healthy eating, and sleep routine builds a great foundation for children in the future. “
My Experience
As mothers to our own children, childcare is in our nature.
We have a lot of early years and developmental experience to offer your little ones. Halima has run her own successful childcare business for 17 years, working with children from 3 months to 12 years old and establishing a tight community in her area. Hermelinda has worked in nurseries including Montessori, as a nanny, with newborns to adolescents, as well as a PE teacher & swimming instructor.

We were very fortunate to discover Halima through a friend couple 3 years ago who highlighy recommended her to us. Halima started looking after our first daughter, Ysée, when she was 9 months old and she's been caring for our second daughter, Adèle, since she was 6 months old. She's been part of our family for the past three years and we cannot imagine a better childminder to entrust our daughters with.
Halima has a genuine love for children, and it shows in the way that she interacts with Ysée and Adèle. She engages them in a variety of activities such as painting, baking, and reading, and takes them on outings to the playground, farm, and playgroups. It's no wonder that Ysée and Adèle love spending time with her. They call her "Aunty".
As parents, it is reassuring to know that our daughters are with someone who genuinely cares for them and is invested in their growth and development. Halima is undoubtedly one of those exceptional caregivers. Her ability to balance both love and discipline ensures that our daughters are always safe, well-cared-for, and learning new life skills.
We have complete trust in Halima and feel confident that our daughters are in the best hands when they are with her. We would highly recommend Halima to any family looking for exceptional childcare. She is a true gem and we are grateful for all that she does for our family.

My partner and I recently enrolled our son Cillian, with Halima & Hermelinda. He has been going now for 4 months, he is delighted and we are too.
most days they take the children out for activities like the farm, playground, libraries, stay and play and plenty more and we get updates with photos via Whatsapp and a Facebook group, which helps when you miss your little one.
Halima & Hermelinda understand the importance (which is essential to us!) of early childhood education and provide an age-appropriate curriculum that helps develop essential skills such as motor skills, communication, and problem-solving.
I love seeing that my son gets to interact and grow alongside other children as I feel its great for his social development amongst other things and Halima & Hermelinda are the best guardians and carers you could ask for looking after your little star!
