About Me
I have been Childminding for 18 years and have cared for over 40 children. Prior to becoming a Childminder I was a trained nurse and Ward Sister. I decided to change my career when I had my own children. I live with my husband and we have 2 children. We live in quiet Close beside woodland in a rural village. We are within walking distance of the village where there is a shop, park, 2 pre-schools and a school. I look after the children in our playroom where the toys we use are easily accessible. I also use our garden which is enclosed. The children benefit from a wide range of activities and trips out. I record the children's experiences in their own individual books which show the children's progress.
My Experience
I have been Ofsted registered since 2005 and my last Ofsted inspection was November 2018. I have many years of experience which is continually developing as is my understanding of the needs of individual children and their families. I can provide written or verbal references from present and past parents.
My Qualifications
All relevant qualifications as required by Ofsted and my local Childminding network. These include paediatric first aid, Safeguarding children, health and safety, supporting children with speech language and communication needs and behaviour management.

My twins have spent the past two years going to Wendy’s. It really is a home from home, with tales of visiting the pigs, trips to Wrest Park, visits to local playgrounds and at home painting/drawing, lots of playing and baking to name but a few activities. Wendy is calm, organised and unflappable she has the children’s well-being at heart and most importantly they loved going to hers each week. She made it easy for me to return to work and so much so I am hoping there will be a space for number three. Not only is Wendy great at her job she is also flexible, accommodating and very easy to get along with. I highly recommend Wendy.

Wendy has been my childminder for 5 years now, caring for both my children. She has brought such love, care and happiness to them both (and us all!) in lovely setting that they both adore going there every day. That has been such a relief to me as a working mum. They are given healthy food and healthy activities with plenty of trips to local parks, playgrounds and further afield to the supermarket or shops on the bus - the kinds of things I would be doing with them if they were home with me. There is a huge range of toys for fun and to help them with their development. I've also really appreciated Wendy's communication - I get a daily summary of what the children have done that day so I can talk about it with the children and feel involved in their lives away from home as well as regular feedback of their development against national guidelines. This is something which can't happen as easily in larger settings / nurseries - a big benefit of Wendy running a smaller more intimate setting. However, they have also been able to experience bigger settings as Wendy has taken them to pre-school for me as part of their day. My children are moving on to school soon and we will all miss Wendy and her family hugely. We were so lucky to find her - thanks for everything, Wendy!
