I have worked as a private tutor and education consultant since 2014. I am an enthusiastic, passionate and multi-skilled tutor, specializing in online and in-person sessions for 10+,11+, 13+ test preparation.
My Experience
I have extensive experience of providing both one-to-one tutoring and home schooling to students of all ages from Key Stage 1 through to GCSE. I provide online tutoring that incorporates all the latest teaching methods to ensure your child gains as much value as possible.
I worked as a Senior Product Development Manager at Pearson Education (GCSE and A level) for over 5 years, so I have a deep knowledge of how to help your child succeed in exams.
My success rates (over 91%) for the 10+ and 11+ are second to none. My students have gained entry to the following: Tiffin Boys/Girls School, Kingston Grammar School, Ibstock Place School, Hampton School, and Nonsuch High School for Girls.

Chris has been tutoring our two sons for over three years now, with our older son successfully passing the 11+ exam for Hampton School. Chris is a gifted teacher and dedicated professional who deeply cares about his students and works hard to make their learning journeys as positive, rewarding and engaging as possible (including - and especially - since the move to online teaching in 2020). He really seeks to understand how a student absorbs knowledge, what interests they have, and how new materials can be linked to or explained in the context of these interests. Our sons both enjoyed working with him tremendously. He is always calm and focused, with a sense of humour, and has an unshakable belief in the capacity of his students to learn and excel, even in areas that they may initially find hard.
But Chris not only coaches and supports the students. He does the same for the parents (who often tend to find the 11+ process equally stressful and exhausting). He always keeps a positive lookout, provides detailed feedback on the progress a student is making, and devises tailored exercises to help the student in areas that need further attention. He is very generous with his time to answer any questions that parents may have, researches updated or previous exam papers from different schools, or comes up with his own exercises that are similar to the type of test a target school may set.
We could not have expected any better experience of a tutor working with our two kids and with us as parents - and can only recommend him in the highest terms.

Chris has been tutoring our children (KS1 and KS2) for almost 2 years now. Girls have always enjoyed the sessions and have been looking forward to new challenges every week. Chris has been able to connect very well with them and motivate them to produce great results. Our eldest wasn't keen on English and Writing and this has completely changed now. Chris has continuously provided us with valuable feedback, advises and suggestions, starting from book recommendations to math puzzles. Both girls are now very confident across their respective curricula and are actually looking forward to their 11+!
