About Me
I'm a fun and outgoing person,who enjoys working with children. I aim to provide and warm,fun and caring atmosphere,where children are free to learn and explore through play.
I pride myself on ensuring that I will always have a well maintained,clean and safe environment for all children. I have a big spacious play area which is purpose-built for the children to have lots of fun and become creative with a variety of toys and a large outdoor garden area. We can go on morning and afternoon walks to the local parks and nature walks when the weather permits.
I'm dedicated on keeping myself up to date on current legislation/guidelines in reference to childcare as well as making sure children have a variety of resources where they can enhance current skills and abilities indoors and outdoors.
My Experience
I have over 19 years experience of working with children 0-8 years old in numerous settings,such as private nurseries,children centres and primary schools, reception class to year 2.
I'm a mum of two wonderful children a girl aged 18 and boy aged 10, So I have good experience of babies right through to teens.
I'm very highly trained and have several childcare qualifications gained through face to face and online training courses. I have a regular routine each day and I'm flexible to accommodate parents needs, working in partnership with parents.
I have space for children full day Monday - friday 8am until 6pm January 2025) or morning sessions Monday-Friday 8am until 2pm/ 9am until 3pm minimum 6 hours morning sessions only, flexible start times available 7.45am at an additional charge if needed

My Availability
Available Monday - Friday 8am until 6pm
Or 8am until 2pm. 9am until 3pm (term-time only and al year around care Ad-hoc and emergency care if needed
I will have full-time spaces available from September 2025 onwards. Flexible start time
I do encourage 2-4 weeks settling in period for babies under 1 or just 1 years old due to separation anxiety. Parents/Carers are welcome to do a stay and play while other children are not present due to safeguarding.

I offer funding Monday-Friday 6 hours 9am until 3pm, or over 4 days 7.5 hours and 15 hours over 2 days 7.5 hours,hours needed before or after funded hours will be charged at my hourly rate.

- Childminding from £8.00 per hour
£8.00 Per hour short hours minimum 6hrs
£67.50 full day 8-6pm
£48.00 half day 8am-2pm - 9am- 3pm
£8.00 extra for 7.45am start time
Privately hourly fees cover hours outside of funding if needed.
Funding does not cover food or trips
Term-time only and all year around as well as Ad-hoc and emergency care if needed

Althea has been nothing but a blessing in disguise. She worked hard to take care of my son and settle him in with great patience. She has an excellent set up where children enjoy playing with different toys and learn during the process. Her space is secure and comfortable and my son loved being with her. Thank you Althea for being an amazing childminder for my son!

Althea is without a doubt the best nanny my children could have. She is loving, charming and above all very flexible. In addition to taking very good care of them, she also plays with them. They do many activities when the weather is nice, they go to the park. Her environment has plenty of space, toys and an amazing play area. She pays a lot of attention to the likes and dislikes of each of the children and adapts to their needs. Althea has won the hearts of my children so much that they adore her and they have her very much in mind. I highly recommend her.

Althea is a great person and an amazing childminder. My son just turned 4 and from day one she managed to get into him, he happily talks about her and the fun activities they do together. He brings all kinds of fun crafts and drawings home, which we proudly hang somewhere visible in the house. She is warm and loving, also being best at calming him down during the toddler mood swings and tantrums. I know he feels safe with her, which is the most important part of all.
