Do not send to this nursery
We regret sending our child to Robins Nest Nursery. Please read this if you’re considering it.
Our son came home from this nursery on more than one occasion with a severely soiled nappy—leaking faeces down his legs and back. This was especially concerning because he is fully potty trained and can clearly communicate when he needs the toilet. On both occasions, his daily report had no toileting record at all, and we were given no explanation.
We raised formal concerns with the nursery. The first time, they apologised and refunded a month’s fees. Hoping it was a one-off and trusting their assurances, we gave them a second chance. Unfortunately, the same issue happened again.
After the second incident, our son was visibly distressed, saying that his bottom hurt and expressing reluctance to return. We made another formal complaint, citing our concerns around hygiene, safeguarding, and emotional wellbeing.
Shortly afterwards, the nursery terminated his place via email, without prior notice or discussion. They stated that they had “fulfilled their duties” and informed Ofsted.
We were shocked and saddened by their response. We expected a more constructive approach, especially given the nature of our concerns.
We are now raising this matter with Ofsted and the Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) for further investigation. We feel strongly that no child should experience this kind of situation, and no parent should be left in the dark when concerns are raised.
