I love working with children and have an enthusiastic but patient manner that is really suited to looking after children and helping them to develop. I have a warm and positive approach, always with a smile on my face.
I am Level 3 qualified in children's care learning and development and I have experience working with children from birth to 9 years.
I have worked also with few children who have various additional learning needs from behavioural challenges to having English as an additional language (I am Spanish and I know how challenging can be to have English as an additional language so I understand how hard can be for children who want to express their needs). I have also learnt how to work in partnership with parents, ensuring they are kept fully involved and informed about their child’s activities, achievements and progress, also encouraging parental involvement.
I pride myself in helping to create a fun and interactive environment for children. I love arts and crafts, cooking, singing, and going walks. I really enjoy exploring nature.
I have full driving license and own car.
I have been working with children nearly 20 years. I started working as nanny back in Spain to pay for my studies at the University and then I also worked in a school with 9 years old children. I moved to Cardiff 7 years ago, where I started working as a nanny in Penarth of 3 lovely children (3, 6 and 8 years old), where I also did some volunteering jobs in a couple of playgroups. 2 years I got my Level 3 qualification in children's care, learning and development, and I got a job as a nursery nurse in a private nursery, where I worked for 3 years. After this job, I went to work for Flying Start, where I am currently working, in a playgroup with children aged 2-3 years old.
I also do some Spanish tutoring to children as I really think that learning an additional language is great for children and for adults too!
Children have a range of experiential first-hand experiences including freely chosen, unstructured and self-directed play. Throughout my working experience with children, I am able to plan and supervise activities like arts and crafts, music and cooking, to help children to learn numeracy skills through activities like counting games, to read stories and provide activities to develop the children’s language skills, to work to early years foundation stage standards on child learning, to make sure children are safe and well at all times
I have worked also with few children who have various additional learning needs ( I am actually doing 1 to 1 with a child in my setting) from behavioural challenges to having English as an additional language (I am Spanish and I know how challenging can be to have English as an additional language so I understand how hard can be for children who want to express their needs).
I have also learnt how to work in partnership with parents, ensuring they are kept fully involved and informed about their child’s activities, achievements and progress, also encouraging parental involvement.
I studied English Philology at the University of Seville.
HIgh Tourism qualification in Seville.
Level 3 in children's care, learning and development
I would be available from 4.30 pm Monday to Friday. And some weekends if help is required.
