*I am have been briefly closed during the covid 19 pandemic, as I assessed my ability to care for children whilst keeping them, their families and my family safe. After taking training in preventing Covid 19 and coming up with a plan for hygiene, cleaning and most importantly playing that will enable me to care for children in a home from home style whilst keeping the risk of infection as low as possible I now confident to begin caring for children again. I have made the decision to limit the number of families I care for at a time. *
I started childminding as I found child led and flexible childcare in the area was almost nonexistent and that's what I wish to provide for the children and parents I work with. I have a daughter of my own and our home is very much child based and sometimes messy. My aim is to provide a home like environment for minded children. To place their safety and wellbeing at the centre of all daily activities. I aim to provide a place where children feel free to express themselves develop their into their own person, by always listening to the child and discussing boundaries and rules and the reasons for them. For parents I aim to provide them with child care which is flexible and reliable where they can be sure their childs physical and mental wellbeing is my main priority. As I always work with a much smaller number of children than I am registered to have I can offer much more flexibility for parents who work irregular hours or shifts.
I am a member of the forest childcare association and provide children in my care a complete range of outdoor activities. Making full use of the wonderful village of Castlerock with trips to the beach, forest, national trust and play park. As well a a variety of indoor activities from crafts, baking, music and puzzles to dress up, story books, occasional movie afternoons and trips to soft play.
I have been registered as a childminder since the start of 2019 but have a vast experience working with children, including recently in a playgroup and many years as a nanny in my youth.
