About Me

AVAILABLE FOR SUMMER HOLIDAYS 2023! My name is Janet and I am a friendly, fun and responsible teaching assistant who is currently working with Y1. I have a lot of experience working with and being responsible for young people and children of different ages (mentoring- 2yrs, tutoring- 6+yrs, working in a softplay centre, teaching 1 yrs, CAMHS) and different needs (SEN, ASD)

My Experience

Hi! My name is Janet I am currently a primary teaching assistant and have a lot of experience working with and being responsible for young people and children of different ages (mentoring- 2yrs, tutoring- 2yrs, working in a softplay centre, SEN Teaching Assistant ) and I find it's a fun, rewarding experience as each child is so unique.

I have past experience as a care home worker (healthcare assistant) so I am able to provide personal care (preparing and giving food, washing, cleaning) and also I can care for others with patience and kindness in demanding situations. Also, I have experience from this with people with physical/learning disabilities. Due to working with NHS, I am able to safeguard children and also understand and be empathetic to someone’s needs. I also have worked with young people with complex non verbal needs such as ASD, so I have experience in navigating with flexible forms of communication.

I hold qualifications from care work (Care Certificate), and I am enhanced DBS checked and on the update service. Although I am not a registered childminder, I would like to work in childcare or social working in the future. I also can understand basic Chinese and Spanish and have obtained 11 A* GSCEs and IB qualification (A level equivalent).

I do not drive but I can pick up children if its in walking distance from school to home- same with drop off for after school activities.

Overall, I will always treat children with encouragement and a smile, and I am definitely willing to help with homework and help encourage their hobbies, and implement their everyday routines. I think it's lovely to work with children so they feel happy and safe.

I am open to ad-hoc or occasional / odd day or temporary / emergency nannying
Please feel free to ask me anything I know it’s quite nerve racking trusting someone online!!
